Carnegie Hall's Weill Music Institute has announced plans to launch a city-wide exploration of the Leonard Bernstein-Stephen Sondheim-Arthur Laurents musical West Side Story, which will include a large-scale staging of the landmark work in a century-old Queens factory building.
Three performances of West Side Story will take place March 4-6, 2016, at the Knockdown Center, a restored 50,000-square-foot factory located in Maspeth, NY.
Thanks for the link PalJoey I thought I had linked the source article to my original post. Technical glitch. It does sound awesome. I can't wait to hear who gets cast in this.
FYI: Tickets are now available with bleacher seating for $25 and then tables for $45-65. Just got a ticket! :) The bleacher seats appear to be selling fast. They showed no availability online, but when I called Carnegie Hall, I got one. Get em fast! :)
