Weirder? He is the entertainment guy in Vegas. Has been for years. Most interesting part is that she will be alternating with Ricky Martin and Janet Jackson in her residency. I guess we will be hitting Vegas a few times this year.
Maybe her and Janet can have a lip synch contest when they switch off dates? (I've seen both live and yes, both obviously lip synched a lot of their shows...)
She will be in Brooklyn on Feb 3, the inaugural performer opening the former Loews Kings, now renamed the Kings Theatre. The cost for refurbishing the theatre was a cool 65m. It's sold out. Saw pictures, it looks amazing.
Agree about Janet. The only times, she is singing completely live is when she was sitting on a stool singing a couple of slow songs. Did not know that about Diana. I would have assumed that, especially in later years. I could have snatched up a front row ticket here in Jacksonville, for Feb. 14, but didn't want to spend the $126 for it. If it had been a different show, then the one I saw about 3 years ago, then maybe. But viewing her previous setlists, its the same show.
I saw Miss Ross in concert last year in Atlantic City and was very close to the stage. She did not lip sync at all. She also made 7 costume changes in 90 minutes.
"Maybe her and Janet can have a lip synch contest when they switch off dates?"
Liza wants in on that action. It's no small potatoes when you can lip synch a whole Broadway show.
If anyone ever tells you that you put too much Parmesan cheese on your pasta, stop talking to them. You don't need that kind of negativity in your life.

Yes. Diana Ross has been touring constantly . Her son recently married Ashley Simpson. Miss Ross threw them the wedding . It was all over the media. She also was just on one of the big music tv award shows... I can't remember which. Her oldest daughter is on "Blackish". And every time she is on some chat show promoting it all everyone wants to talk about is her mother.
So no. She is not dead. Don't make me queen out on you again.
It was a great night. They did a great job restoring the King's Theater...beautiful inside and out. Diana in true diva form made her grand entrance from the rear of the auditorium singing "I'm Coming Out". It was filled to the rafters - - - she sang all her familiar hits - - - and the audience was just in one big party mood.
I can't believe she is 70 years old. Her voice is in fine form and she really knows how to cater to her audience and give them what they want. She aims to please. She brought up an audience member to dance along with her, I think it was during "Upside Down".
Her encore was "I Will Survive". Her daughter Rhonda, son Evan along with his wife Ashlee and her son Bronx joined her onstage.
Sounds wonderful. It is the same show she has been doing now for a few years ( even the bit of bringing her kids on stage... she must have some of them travel with her everywhere). But with no new album.. that is what people want... to hear her sing her hits.
It was fun! Here's a great account of what the show was like. Sadly, I felt she was really only onstage for an hour because of all the costume changes and "filler " of having her band jam. I really wanted more especially since it was "opening night!"
Vegas, here I come! One of my most memorable concert eperiences was hers in Central Park. Despite the powerful deluge that threatened to derail the event, on she went, soaked in the pouring rain and wind, never losing her enthusiasm or sense of humor, her makeup running down her neck and her hair getting bigger by the song. The ultimate pro.
