Personally, I'm really hoping for Jean Dujardin. The man IS Lumiere, especially when you see him here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i-eHH7RJLAY
And in case you are wondering, he's a good 10 years old than Dan, so it works for what I am saying.

I do not know how much Imelda Staunton, Lesley Manville, and Juno Temple were involved during the scenes in Maleficent where they were CGI pixies. I remember Staunton saying in an interview that they did not work much with Jolie since all of their characters scenes were in CGI. They only filmed one scene with Elle Fanning and that was when they were in their human form. Maybe the actors in thsi film will do some motion capture work, but I have not heard anything about that yet.

I'm starting to get a clearer imagination about how they might do the objects. The principal objects will probably end up being motion capture (like we all thought), and the background/dancing objects will probably be just CGI, because I rewatched some scenes from the animated film, and those objects didn't have human-like traits, like Lumiere for instance.
I think Lumiere may be the easiest one to do probably; one difference I can see with him is that his face may no longer be the candle wax, but perhaps the fire(?) . It's Mrs Potts and The Wardrobe that I'm very curious about.
as long as they keep the prologue and the transformation music i don't mind cos they are stunning compositions.

I was thinking Lumiere could be a brass statuette, perhaps like a lamp lighter figurine with his arm and leg attatched to a candle stick, it's hard to explain but it works in my mind, think of a brass statue that moves, Cogsworth could be easy too and Mrs. Potts could stay a tea set with facial features, I think "Garderobe" could be done similar to the Broadway version but have her made out of wood with a carved face on top. :)

that could work. i mean, the motion capture route they'll probably go down for them. i have just found these links on youtube of realistic facial motion capture. if they can do this to emma thompson, etc..., the enchanted objects would look fantastic...
