Everybody ready for the big storm? It's already coming down pretty hard here in Jersey City.
I have a Comeback marathon planned for tomorrow. I'm lucky. Will probably get the day off and my apartment complex takes care of all the shoveling!

Is NYC/NJ getting the crazy amount predicted?

Here in Pittsburgh, it turned out, as usual, to be not as bad as expected.

It's too soon to tell, but it's certainly coming down in the city.

This may be slightly off topic, but why is BWW referring to the storm as 'winter storm juno' in the front page headline? I didn't know snowstorms had names and no other news outlets seems to be using the name 'juno'.

Only a dusting here along the DC/MD border; thank goodness.

Please be safe everyone.

Juno was named by the winter storm naming committee at The Weather Channel on Sunday morning. The name Juno is from Roman mythology, a goddess who looked after the women of Rome.

It's coming down steadily in midtown, but I believe the worst of it won't be coming until this evening and into the early morning.

I hope I get to frolic on 9th Avenue tomorrow instead of trudging into work. I stocked up on the essentials: coffee, Gatorade and Jamesons!

I love them, too.

It's oddly sunny, given how much snow is falling.

Not in the blizzard area, but we are anticipating over a foot of snow here. Snowstorms are fun, but only if you don't have to be anywhere or drive. Like fortunately today I am off from work. But, tomorrow I am supposed to go and do have to drive. I guess I'll have to see how bad it gets and if we close or if I can get there safely.

Here on the Connecticut shoreline it seems to be starting a little earlier than what they were saying. Unless this is just a somewhat large squall.

Already received the auto call to be on alert of rapid rising tides, move cars to higher ground and such.

Our house is fully-electric (heat, hot water, cooking, etc) and we tend to lose power with every stiff breeze. So, we're holding our breath.

I went to the Trader Joe's in Chelsea yesterday to pick up a few things. It was not actually as bad there as I feared it would be, a little busier than normal, but not much, but I forgot to get milk. Now I'm afraid to go try to find it at any of the stores closer to my apartment as Facebook is already getting piled up with status updates and photos of people going crazy in the stores.

It's mid-60's here, which would be great if we weren't in one of the worst droughts in California history. I hope everyone stays warm and safe in the storm.

I remember being in NYC for the last Snowpocalypse at the end of December, 2010. Our plane was one of the last to touch down before they shut down the airport. Treading the snow drifts in an abandoned Times Square to catch Next to Normal with Mazzie and Daniely was a surreal experience, but quite fun!

That storm WAS surreal. I remember coming home from work and seeing cars and busses abandoned in the street, covered in snow.

I work for the NYC public schools as a teacher. The buzz among fellow teachers was that Tuesday will be a snow day. Interesting part though is that this was on Sunday, rare to even think/discuss it that far in advance but fingers are crossed that that happens.

Louis CK just canceled his MSG show for tomorrow night. Which is ironic, since the last time I had a Louis CK ticket is the Sunday when Sandy was coming in, and he had to postpone our show then, too.

Our office is closing at 3 and we've got tomorrow off.

Also: all non-essential traffic is under a travel ban after 11pm tonight in NYC.
