Just wondering something regarding the theatre on film and tape archives at the performing arts library. Now, I know that they won't let you see shows that they have filmed but are currently running on Broadway. For example, let's say they filmed the current production of Chicago. I wouldn't be able to see it because it's still running. But, what I'm trying to figure out is if the same rule applies for revivals. So let's say I needed to see Les Miserables for a project (which I do), would they allow me to do it even though the revival is on Broadway but the one they have is the original production.

I work at the library, and can tell you that the rules on this issue vary, depending on the production. The best way to find out re: Les Mis (or any other show) is to call the TOFT desk at (212) 870-1642.
