Ex Met First Baseman Ike Davis, who once held so much promise, has been sent to the minors by the Pittsburgh Pirates

Seems like the Mets got the better of the deal this time

Feel sorry for the guy and hopes he catches on somewhere else

Though I don't follow baseball, that must be heartbreaking for the player to be sent back to the minors, where he can no longer support his family. I hope he finds success again.

If you aren't producing, you don't make the big bucks. It's really that simple. He will be just fine.

I am not sure if he is married and he still got major league salaries for a few years so he is not yet at the stage of selling pencils on the street

My guess is if he can find the magic again in the minors, he will be picked up by another team. A young first baseman with power who bats lefty. The world is his oyster. Right now he is gutting fish metaphorically of course.

Yeah, Im sure he will be picked up. He has serious power, and is a low risk, high reward kind of player.
