Just finished watching this week's SNL and, during the closing credits, Bobby Moynihan was wearing a Honeymoon in Vegas Broadway T-shirt, pointing to it, and giving it a thumbs up. I'm guessing he knows someone in the cast/creative? He seems to be a big Broadway supporter, as I chatted with him at the last performance of Bridges of Madison County, as well.

^ He's dating Brynn O'Malley so not shocking to hear of him doing that.

Does anyone know if there will be lottery or general rush for this show?

He was very nice. I think he introduced me to his girlfriend, too, but I didn't know who she was then... (or now, to be honest, heh). If I looked up her credits, I might.

I'm sure someone does. They just haven't told us yet.

They have yet to decide whether they will do a lottery or general/student rush for the show.

Also, I've heard that Honeymoon in Vegas is performing on the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade and not Finding Neverland. Sorry Harvey.

"I've heard that Honeymoon in Vegas is performing on the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade and not Finding Neverland. Sorry Harvey."

Considering FN doesn't even a preview until March, and Honeymoon will already be in previews, this doesn't seem like a major shock.

Brynn O'Malley just posted on Instagram that they are recording a song for the Macy's Parade.
Maybe no Finding Neverland?

I'm going on Tuesday and this is the musical I've been excited for this fall. Love a JRB score and am hoping it this one will work its way into my heart like Bridges, Parade, Last Five Years, and yes, even 13.

Whizzer, I'm glad I'm not the only one who didn't hate 13. I found it really charming and I loved JRB's score.

Anyway, I'm very excited for this. Getting two new JRB scores in one year, plus the Parade concert in February? An embarrassment of riches.

I went on a bit of a rollercoaster with 13. The first preview was a MESS! The show was too long and the book was crass and very unbecoming. It was near dreadful, despite some appealing performances and melodies.

Then it underwent major changes that should have frankly happened out of town; it did have two try-outs after all. Songs were cut, the book rewritten, two acts became an intermissionless 100/110 minutes and all of a sudden it was a whole new show. Of course the damage had already been done, but the OBCR is a wonderful souvenir and I listen to frequently with fond memories.

I was at the final performance, and JRB gave one of the most touching curtain speeches I've ever heard. (His now deceased father took him to his first show at The Jacobs, and throughout the rehearsal/performance process Jason could feel his father watching the show from the seats in the mezz where he saw his first Broadway show. Gives me chills just thinking about it again.)

I will be having a JRB marathon at work tomorrow as to sufficiently pump myself up for welcoming a new score to his canon.

^ That is such a cool story about JRB and his father. I am really looking forward to reading people's thoughts on this. I am a huge fan of Jason Robert Brown's music. I was fortunate to see Bridges earlier this year, and I still listen to the cast recording all the time.

I saw the "teens-only" dress rehearsal of 13 and I agree that the show was a bit of a mess then. After they cut it down to one act it really did become a completely different show. I'm glad they restored "Opportunity" to the licensed version of the show since it's such a great song, but it didn't really work as a second act opener.

Whizzer, the Honeymoon cast recording is already out on iTunes- if you wanted to go in knowing some of the score.

Did anyone succeed in getting rush tickets? When I went down to the box office at around 3 p.m. today, I was told that Ticketmaster was still "building it," and no one knew how long it would take. I was disappointed.

macnyc, what exactly did they mean by "building it"? That is a rather odd response...

^ It means Ticketmaster is building the price code for the box office to use to sell rush tickets.

Intermission report. JRB is in the house - wandering about.

So far it's enjoyable and well choreographed but a bit clunky and not all the jokes are landing. The plot is a bit outlandish but they sell it well - props to Mclure for his oversized acting to match the action. Score is tuneful and fun but lost steam a bit after the first two numbers. David Josefsberg is doing great comedic work and singing - his part kills me! Bryn O'Malley is also very good. Danza very charming but just okay on delivery. Feeling a bit like Bullets Over Broadway with an original score so far.
