Detroit run was canceled after the first show due to "technical difficulties that could not be corrected." I heard the first show did not go well. I had tickets for today. Very unfortunate for all involved that it came this far and barely ran.
A posted sign on the front door of Music Hall says "All performances of The Color Purple have been canceled by the promoter." A spokesperson from Music Hall said that the cancellation was, "due to technical difficulties they could not rectify."
I wonder if Holliday was being technically difficult?
This all sounds like bull...there is nothing in this show that would have them say that it was because of technical difficulties. Will be interesting to see what happens. The last time this show was in Chicago, we had Fantasia here and there was a huge uproar because she missed a few performances...
A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.
