Posted: 9/27/14 at 1:19pmShe wasn't very good, unfortunately. Voice was all wrong, accent was bad, and even in a role like this (it isn't exactly Shakespeare) she struggled as an actress. She was good for box office, though, IIRC, and according to some people I know, a great colleague.

I saw almost all of the Ms. Johnstones.
I felt like Petula Clark nailed both the acting and singing.
Carole King was surprisingly good acting but sounded like she had some vocal difficulties.
And Helen Reddy sang the material well, but her acting was bad.
Mind you, I was super young when I saw this but I absolutely loved the show and saw it a lot-as teenagers tend to do with a show :)

I saw her several times along with all of the Ms. Johnstones. Her acting was good, although not the best vocalist for the role she was very good. It was hard for her to keep the accent throughout the show, but I didn't mind that. Stefanie Lawrence and Petula Clark remain my favorites. As pmensky said Adrian Zmed was surprisingly good as "the narrator". My favorites were Warwick Evans and Domineck Allen.
How I do miss this show and so hope for a comeback, but I don't expect anything.

Posted: 9/30/14 at 7:04amI thought she did a good job. Vincent Canby gave her a favorable mention in an article about the show. She was DEFINITELY good for the box office, when the show needed it to keep running.
