This has been running for a bit now and haven't seen anything on here. Anyone seen it and have thoughts?

I'm also very curious. Seeing this in 2 weeks. Ivo Van Hove is a genius!

style over substance
make that style that isn't really worth the trouble over very little substance

3 1/2 hours with a half hour intermission
Should be cut to less than 90 minutes and would still be a waste of time

I saw this today. I agree with RUkiddingme. The content of the show is decent but nothing special. At times I even found it somewhat boring. The acting ranges pretty heavily IMO. Sometimes the actors start screaming so loud that it feels like it's way overdone, though that might be the direction. The form is really fascinating at times, though. Particularly in the beginning of the 2nd act when

*possible spoiler?*

All the different versions of the 2 main characters play the same scene all at once all around the open stage. It was really cool (if a bit confusing).

How does it compare to the film/miniseries? I could imagine it'd lose some impact without that fabulous Sven Nykvist cinematography.

What an incredible production and incredibly affecting play. Ivo is at the top of his game, especially in the overlapping dialogue scene in Act II. I found each performance to be indelible; but ultimately this was an ensemble piece.

Kudos to NYTW for spending so much time, energy and research to make the physical aspect of this production possible.
