You guys helped me out before when I asked about another show, and thank you! I have sensitive ears and am wondering are there any gunshot sound effects in Curious Incident? I'm fine as long as I'm prepared. Thank you so much!

No, but the show has loud moments and loud music

No, but there are definitely some very loud moments. One piece of music in particular has a very loud bass beat.

Thanks brdway411! That I can handle. I once went to a show (a professional theatre company no less, but not on Broadway) that did not post there would be gunshots...and there were 2 very loud ones that startled me and my friend and killed our ears. Ever since then I like to ask so I'm prepared, and I find the best and easiest way is to ask people who have seen the show before I buy tickets. Thanks again, I appreciate your response.

A lot of the scenes in the show were loud and annoying intentionally though (subway noises, screaming and stuff)

If you wait a bit, the production in london had done quite a lot of a Autism friendly performances where they reduce the noises and lights for the comfort of the partucular viewers. If you happen to catch those shows you wont have to worry about startling to loud noises. But no explosion or gunshot, just loud sound effects

Saw it this past Tuesday. We noticed that the mics on the cast we're not turned up and their voices seemed less amplified. We strained just a bit at times to hear them. And then there were those loud moments mentioned above. I pay a lot of attention to sound design when I see a show and it just felt a bit umbalanced to me. Enjoyed the show though!

That's very interesting Jingjo2, thanks for the information! I'm glad they do some performances with Autistic people in mind.

Interesting uncageg, I wonder if the sound mix was off that night or if that was a conscious choice. Glad you enjoyed the show though.

Thank you both for taking the time to answer. I appreciate it.

I saw the live screening and someone in the cinema audience had a seizure at the dramatic point where the special effects kick in, so please be careful.
