I am visiting NYC in November and am booking theater tickets now. I have seen everything from prior seasons (except If/Then) and am looking at all new season productions.
Lots of plays have been booked (Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night Time - You Cant Take it With You - The River - A Delicate Balance) and plan on booking more (Real Thing - Disgraced - It's Only a Play).
Want to add in some musicals - and it looks like I have The Last Ship - Honeymoon in Vegas - Side Show to choose from. I am thinking I should see all three, early in their runs.
Anyone have an opinion? (LOL - I know that was a loaded question)
I guess if you can see all 3 --- see them! All 3 are VERY different and all 3 have their reasons to be seen. It's amazing all the plays and play revivals that are opening for the fall. A great season for plays, as you know. And not as many musicals but such a variety!
By all means, see every show that you can. Last season was the first where I saw absolutely everything on Broadway and though I saw a lot more crap than any other season, it was an excellent feeling to have seen so many shows and I love going to see something that I've never seen before.
Anything regarding shows stated by this account is an attempt to convey opinion and not fact.
Like above, see as many as you can. It's hard to ask for online opinions, since people have different tastes in musical preferences. Sounds like you have a good line up planned, though! I love seeing shows early in their run.
