ok peeps, three friends of mine, each from a different Spanish-speaking nation, and I can't seem to agree on the definition of "alcahuetear".
I was taught that it means to basically suck up to someone for personal or professional gain.
How would you define it in your own words, either in English or Spanish?

Most of the Central Americans with whom I interact tend to use the verb "consentir" for pander but I've certainly come across other selections in print media.
