A New "View" Starts Today |
Auggie, the producers feel the same way. Nicolle was a VERY last minute selection. So the fact that she's been such a great addition, and one liked across the board politically is a W in their book.
Ucjr, maybe you can answer.
I see tickets to tapings of the show on papering sites, but the dates listed (usually Tuesday/Wednesday) often say that "Filming Begins at 1:00PM Taping should be done by 2:30PM." What shows are these? I thought that the Friday shows are taped on Thursday?

well, so much for Ashanti getting that 5th spot. She seemed completely lost on the show today.
A Chorus Line played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013.
Are these people seriously under consideration? I mean they may not be A listers, but Ashanti, Jordan Sparks, Gretchen Wilson, and Naya Rivera all have fairly solid careers going. The View is by no means a last-ditch grab at a job by any means, but wouldn't they want someone more in the comedian/host vein then "young girl singer?"

They already have a smart panel. Why bring Sherri back?

Gretchen Wilson, mouthpiece of that homophobic John Rich, should not be on any network except Fox News.

I can see Joy coming back on a limited "filling in" basis. I can't see Sherri coming back because bridges are burnt to the ground from what I understand. But a girl's gotta eat and alimony is expensive...
Ljay, Friday's show is generally taped on Thursday, especially during the Summer. However, they sometimes tape double shows on other days of the week. Usually if there is a holiday coming up or based on someone's schedule. I attended a taping in June, where the show wasn't going to broadcast until July. They are now using 1iota for tickets which is a lot easier than their old method. (Going through ABC.com) If you do obtain your ticket through 1iota, still get there early. Your ticket is not a guarantee for entrance. You enter after VIPs, guest, friends, etc.
Basically anyone under 30 you see in the next couple of weeks, is under consideration even if they know it or not. Naya will be back as of now.
I didn't get to watch today but I heard it was a strong episode. Anyone catch it? Apparently there was a heated discussion about Ferguson.
Updated On: 11/18/14 at 07:06 PMI watched both The View and The Talk today. The ladies on The Talk have a rapport with each other and it feels natural and friendly. The View seems like it's 4 (or today 5) women in their own worlds. You can tell Rosie is making an effort to not overpower the rest of the panel (which she can easily do) but at the expense of hardly getting a word in.
Nicole Wallace is such a breathe of fresh air on The View. I wasn't expecting it. Thank goodness for her, or the show would really be unwatchable. Perez really doesn't seem to know what she's talking about half the time & O'Donnell is very much restrained. I still say she leaves after a year, she really doesn't seem happy on the show. And Whoopi is still Whoopi, just with more energy this season. She actually appears to want to be there every day now.

Nicole Wallace is definitely the revelation in all this. I am enjoying it. Can't stand The Talk. At least The View makes a effort to discuss political subjects.
Updated On: 11/19/14 at 01:36 PMWow. You could cut the tension with a knife.
You wanted sparks, you got em. I've been rooting for her, but if today is any indication on the road until August, Rosie won't sign for another year.

Care to ellaborate.

Yes today was horrible. Rosie wasn't even trying not to be a bitch. Dottie, they got into a discussion about Bill Cosby and Rosie was treating the other women horribly.
Thanks, Tag.

"Rosie was treating the other women horribly."
I saw this exchange and could not believe it. Rosie'O seems like the only "real" person on that show. She wasn't treating them horribly they were treating her like an idiot. What with Whoopi's bizarre rational for siding with Cosby is bananas. The other two just seem shell-shocked.
It's one thing to have an opinion but Rosie was speaking about the facts in the case(s)/situation. Whoopi seems to think there is some ongoing trial with Bill (and there isn't) and the other women are defending the right to a fair trial.
Those women are spineless, at least pick a side. This show is just a snooze fest, at least Rosie has conviction.
