A New "View" Starts Today

Raven is in school.  She talks about it all the time.  In the publicity last season in preparation for this season, she was touted as one of the "twice a week" people for this season, most likely for this reason.  She's probably had mid-terms or something, relax.

Once again Joy Behar is forced to apolgize to women for her hateful remarks against them.

For a Hilary supporter, she does not listen to one of her biggest pledges that all women who are victims of sexual assault should be supported, not just ones she likes.

I love Joy and she is one of the reasons I started watching The View again. I could care less what she called those women.  The only reason fox made a issue out of it is because she apologized the very next day.  joy is not going anywhere.

Their friendship has always seemed pretty authentic to me.

They seem like genuine friends with history. Do friends fight? Many do, but their mutual respect is always palpable.

Candace needs to go. She stayed mostly silent during the debate discussion, and then dismissed the conversation as "petty". The panel needs conservatives, but her unwillingness to own up to beliefs that she knows will be unpopular is inexcusable. What is the point of her being on the show, if she's not willing to participate in discussion? I understand that journalists on the show have had to maintain a certain decorum, but she is certainly not a journalist.

^I can't understand why Sunny wouldn't be on everyday (in Bure's spot) leading up to the election.  It just doesn't make sense.

I'm beginning to wonder why they're sticking with the same 5 co-hosts? We're only seeing Raven on Fridays with Paula & Sunny just one or two episodes a week.

The spin on her departure was perfect. I having a feeling this will unfortunately happen to Paula as well. It's too bad because I enjoy Paula on the panel.

Yeah, I don't exactly get the Paula hate. Especially over the insufferable, spineless Candace.  Paula is pretty fair, and yeah she tries a little to hard, but I'd still want to go out to lunch with her.  She seems fun, and the show needs someone to ruffle Whoopi and Joy's feathers, occasionally.

Exactly. I would think the producers/network would like some of that ruffling of the feathers. Paula does a good at that. Candace can't seem to commit to expressing her beliefs in a confident way. She's fine and pleasant when she's discussing pop culture/non-controversial topics or even asking some interview questions, but now she seems to choke on the big stuff, which is funny because she was hired due to her first guest host episode where she strongly clashed with Raven over her beliefs.

Now that Raven is leaving, do we still need Candace?

I think they keep Paula for now. Candace will likely leave again for another month long hiatus. No Paula would leave them with just the 5. So she'll likely fill in during Bure's next hiatus.

Paula still has her GMA duties. My guess is that she's okay with not having to host The View five days a week.

Anyone else watch today? I noticed they sat Paula next to Whoopi and Whoopi was leaning away from her the whole show. And anytime Paula commented on something, Whoopi gave her a variety of looks.

I can't imagine them not being live. Should be interesting to hear what Whoopi & Joy have to say assuming they're on the show. Paula's in Florida & Raven (I believe) is officially done with the show.
