A New "View" Starts Today |
Newest rumor is that Paula will be fired, but a show rep is denying it.

I'm not buying it. If anything, the producers love the tension between Paula and Whoopi. Their tension delivers some of the sparks that the show had between cohosts in previous years.
Last I heard from behind the scenes is that Candace wants out (her career is just getting too busy), Raven is being pushed out. Making room for the panel to be Whoopi, Joy, Sunny, Sarah, Jedidiah and Paula.
Candi Carter likes her. She was brought on to fill that "journalist" void that Barbara left so I don't expect to see her going anywhere. Sarah is VERY much liked on camera and behind the scenes so they producers want her BAD.

I always thought of Paula to be the Meredith Viera of this batch. I don't see them firing her either. How would that affect her GMA weekend gig? What kind of message would that send to those viewers?
I really can't see Paula going anywhere. I'd be perfectly ok with Raven leaving as I doubt anyone would miss her. Will they still go with 6 co-hosts?? Or back to 5 with the typically rotating guest co-hosts?? It should just be Whoopi-Haines-Behar-Sunny-Farris
Raven's absence has been a nice welcome to the show. Adding in Hostin & Bila during the RNC & DNC make the hot topics very interesting. I wonder if she's out due to her contract still up in the air. I'd assume Bure is all but done with the show now. Paula's been out due to her commitment with GMA.
They typically go on hiatus for 4 weeks and return the Monday after Labor day. That would be September 12 this year. That should mark their hiatus to start on August 15 if they're breaking for 4 weeks
Damn, Raven was back today.
correction about their hiatus. This Friday is their last show for this season. The View's 20th season will start Tuesday, September 6. The hiatus makes sense to break during the Olympics. With the Rio Games, a lot of programming will be starting at 10am, likely taking ratings away from ABC/The View. The have locked in for the next season: Whoopi, Joy, Paula & Sarah Haines. Still no word about Raven. Her lack of appearances lately make me hopefully she won't be back & they replace her with Sunny Hostin.
Whoopi, Joy, Raven, Paula, Candace and Sarah will sit at the table for Season 20 with Sunny and Jedidiah contributing.

I'm surprised that Candace will be returning. They're going to need a bigger table.
What is the point of Bure returning, I don't get it? She is NEVER there.
The Daily Mail says Raven and Paula will be phased out for Jedediah and Sunny. I don't know how true it is, but they said Paula will only be on once a week. Whoopi went on a firestorm of tweets saying she's not responsible.

Clearly, they're trying not to be the show that fires three hosts a year, but they should just embrace that face because that's what the View has become. Raven is a waste of a younger minority voice. I guess that her ever-changing hair, obsession with any annoying trend, and proud self-rightiousness makes her textbook millennial. So, maybe that was a factor in keeping her on the panel. As a millennial, I'd hope see a 30 year old woman, who takes her job seriously and knows politics, but perhaps that's asking for too much from abc.
The decision to keep Candace really blows my mind. She was probably on even less than Michelle Collins, which is saying a lot. She has alluded to the fact that she's voting for Trump, but isn't willing to defend him in panel discussion. She's barely been on since her postponed start date, and only seems willing to talk about Jesus or her horrible full house reboot. Otherwise, she just seems sad there. I hope that no one at abc news is keeping her hostage.
Paula, I'm neutral about, but she does play an effective "Devils advocate". So, keep her on to fire up Whoopi.

Jedidiah, who had only been appearing on Fox News for the last several years as a guest fill-in and contributor on two or three different shows, announced today she is officially leaving the network to join The View "full time as a co-host." Her words, not mine. That departure (and announcement) implies she'll be on The View quite a bit... Even if the press release doesn't bill her as a full-time co-host. Jedidiah is a self-professed Libertarian and extremely moderate in her political views. She'll be a great balance and refreshing escape from the typical Right vs. Left crap on there.
Paula was on the show today w/Whoopi, so we'll see if the Daily Mail is even close to their report. Bure will barely be there & I'm ok if Raven is barely there, too. Their regular 5 should be Whoopi, Joy, Haines, Paula & Sunny. Have Bila as the sub & throw in Raven in once a week. Bure can fill in when she's in the neighborhood.
Whoopi goes on Twitter rant over co-host rumors. E! confirms that Paula is expected to be back in season 20 full time.

it'll be interesting if Whoopi addresses this issue on today's show. we shall see.
no Whoopi. I doubt she'll be there tomorrow. I guess we won't get a response. Paula is on the show today as is Raven.
This week's shows must have been taped in advance. The co-hosts are definitely on hiatus. Don't know about next week.
