Actually, she was born "Tater Jo," but there was another one in her kindergarten class.

Raven just feels very angry about everything, or very self-centered, or both. Either way, she's not really someone I respond to. She's making fun of all these names - which, they are obnoxious totally - but home girl has a bright pink weave mohawk and her name is RAVEN. So.... the fact that she didn't understand the irony there..
And I hate that basically there is only one conservative because it makes her opinions seem so wrong when there are 4 people disagreeing with her.

The Malcom Jamal-Warner segment was certainly awkwardly managed. And freighted with ironies. Did no one in the confab notice a rather glaring one? Warner talking about the legacy of the Cosby show, and how maligned its iconic status now is in terms of modeling/inspiring people of color. Crickets. And then, to move off its palpably awkward impact, Collins giddily turned to Warner's work on ... why, a movie of the week about the O. J. Simpson case! That sounds like fun! A nice safe topic, O. J., after unsettling chat about industry portraits of African-American men. Right out of "Network."
It seems like a show is desperate for ratings when they pull out Ann Coulter. I hate the way Raven comes across on this show (well, I've never really been a fan, but...) but I have seen several Facebook friends now post the clip of Ann "taking down" Raven for calling her too negative and saying that at least she doesn't mock people because of their names... Those posts all seem to say "I hate Ann Coulter, but she totally OWNED Raven in this clip! BOOYAH" (OK, I made some of that up...) The thing is Ann really didn't. Ann HAS mocked people because of ethical sounding names, she's mocked people for coming off "faggy" in the way their voices sounded instead of answering their questions, etc, etc. Sigh.

I thought Raven's shortcomings were highlighted during the Coulter segment, since she couldn't land on specifics to indict Coulter's ongoing racist rant, and then cowered when Coulter grew venomous and brought up the name thing. Had Goldberg been there, the moment would've become rather something else. Behar let it pass (perhaps because she didn't want to re-visit what's been an embarrassment for The View, Raven's bizarre dissing instincts). Mostly, the segment proves how poorly the show handles controversial guests (and big mouths). It's not exactly what it once was, not that it was ever 60 Minutes.
Yeah, the problem is that Raven isn't intelligent enough to be able to point out Coulter's hypocrisy over he name thing. Coulter would have had a strong point if she herself was not guilty of the same thing. I don't know why Joy stayed so silent, though.
My name is neither "adam" nor "greer."

Whoop and Joy were out today, and Sherri and Candace were in. Paula took over moderator duties, and I thought she did very well. She's so much better on that side of the table than on the other end where she tends to be forgotten and ignored. She must be relieved to sit away from Raven.

I'm surprised no one here has mentioned that Democratic presidential candidate Martin O'Malley appeared on the show yesterday, trotted out his guitar and played an admirably slightly-off-key but amusing verse of "Bad Blood" by Taylor Swift. They had Michelle Collins do her flirty thing and bring up his hottie shirtless workout photos that surfaced day after the debate. I'm sure his team said "no one knows who you are and your poll numbers after the debate last week stayed the same. Dude, you need to pull a 'Clinton.'" I think it might have worked, for his sake, though. People now know who he is.
As for Paula, she kept saying "...is coming up, everyone!...We'll be right back, everyone!!" She worked here in Chicago for 10 years as a harder-core sportscaster. It's tough for me to watch her be Little Miss Cheerful Perma-Smile like she was, yesterday. She did move the discussion along and transition between topics well, though.
"It seems like a show is desperate for ratings when they pull out Ann Coulter."
Actually Eric.. from what I understand they are starting to do quite well.

Coulter. What a hag. I wonder what kind of kid she was in high school, what kind of family she came from, that she grew up to write and speak such nonsense and vitriol with such conviction that she's laughing all the way to the bank, with her (bizarrely) best-selling books and appearances. So validating for her that people are willing to agent, manage, and sell for her, and book her on TV. She's literally made a living from...not being nice. At all. She seems intelligent and willing to do research, but I wonder why she's never chosen to use those powers for good. She doesn't even look physically healthy either, my gosh.

Whoopi is Whoopi, I think the author of that article Luscious was kind enough to link, is trying to fit her in a box or make her into something that he/she (I couldnt tell if the author is girl or boy) wants her to be, not something that she is. Thats not Whoopi. She has always been her own person.

This should be fun. Fiorini is booked on The View this Friday a week after the hosts criticized her looks.
CNN's Brooke Baldwin tore into the hosts of "The View" on Thursday for criticizing Republican presidential candidate Carly Fiorina's appearance.
"I saw something today that angered me," Baldwin said on "Newsroom." "Not just as a journalist, but as a woman."
Baldwin showed a clip from ABC's "The View," in which the show's co-hosts mocked Fiorina's smile during Wednesday's CNBC Republican primary debate. Michelle Collins went as far as to say Fiorina looked "demented," a criticism that was echoed by Whoopi Goldberg. Joy Behar jumped in and said Fiorina's face should be turned into a Halloween mask.
Ironically, the presidential hopeful acknowledged during this week's debate that she has been criticized in the past for not smiling enough.
"Listen, I love 'The View," Baldwin said. "But ladies, come on. Double standard much?"
"We women can be the worst to one another. ... I know these women on 'The View' get called out. So do I. I get it. This is the job we signed up for," she added. "But still, we can do better than that. And how do I know this?"
Baldwin ended her segment with a clip from the ABC daytime show that highlights Behar questioning presidential candidate Donald Trump for attacking Fiorina's appearance rather than her policies.
"Why don't you talk about her brain instead of her face?" the host asked the candidate inSeptember.
Well.. Behar and Collins are comediennes. They are not reporters. They are just trying to be funny. Fiorina gets another appearance on The View out of it.. which only helps her.
That is Bull Poop. They criticized the women for her looks. I do not see them doing that to Mrs Clinton, and they bashed (rightly so) Trump for doing the exact same thing.
They have bashed Clinton before. Sorry you think it is Bull Poop. I thought they were trying to be funny. ( I didn't think they succeeded.. but I took it as bad humor). And I am not saying they should be doing that either.
