I dunno I can't imagine it is easy to dumb yourself down on national television when you were hired because you're outspoken. She is on a national television show it is their job to incite drama. The fact that the others wont engage or turn to straw man arguments is baffling.

They need some more brains on that show. Today they insulted the audience.

Rosie O was pretty much not listening to the other ladies. None of the other ladies were saying that rape wasn't bad or that Cosby shouldn't answer for the crime, if he was guilty. They were just saying that they didn't have all the information and that social media and corporations were ganging up on him without any proof of the events. Rosie took offense to everything the other ladies did, even insinuating that Whoopi was mad because she shifted her body position.

I like Rosie but her refusal to listen to other people's opinions is similar to what I hate about many conservatives who only value their own opinions and why I like Nicole since she understands that people are entitled to opinions differing from hers.

As far as I'm concerned, Rosie O. makes more sense than the other 3 combined. I'm sorry, but Whoopi has proven time and again that she just isn't very bright. Hoping that Whoopi doesn't renew her contract, and Rosie O. moves into the moderator seat next season.

I just watched the video of the Cosby discussion. Although she appeared quite angry, O'Donnell seemed rather composed, because frankly her co-hosts were talking nonsense.

The other hosts weren't "talking nonsense." They were being fair--Whoopi only said it's an "allegation" until proven otherwise, which is fair, and correct. There IS "unknowable" information out there, as Nicolle kept saying; we as the public may never know what truly happened. She was correct in asking Rosie O, "are there new FACTS? There are new women making allegations, but are there any new FACTS to discuss?" A valid question of whether it's worth it to keep this legendary man in the news for something shameful. Rosie P said "it's not for me to say he's guilty or that he's not guilty" but that the info would play out. That is also fair. We may never know all the info, especially since the statute of limitations has long run out for ALL of these (what, 13? 15, all of a sudden?) women who are accusing Cosby.

I, too, had trouble believing this new "news" about "America's Dad" last weekend when there were only 3 or 4 women in the picture. the fact that Janice Dickinson, Former Model and Media Whore has thrown her hat into this ring makes the allegations suspect. At the same time, this many women coming forward indicates there may have been something to this alleged behavior from 30 years ago. Because of the statute, it's unlikely to go to trial, so we'll never really know. And as Rosie O asked Whoopi, "what...you think a bunch of women just woke up recently and decided, 'I'm going to ruin Bill Cosby today?" "Maybe," Whoopi replied.

Anything's possible. Rosie O was harsh, and the conversation was tense. Not a single one of them defended him, nor lambasted him. Rosie implied she felt he's guilty--ok. The others implied they can't make those decisions because there is info missing: they did what you're supposed to do--discuss possibilities, but *not to try the man in the media.* Rosie P alluded to this when she talked about the "social media" aspect, because that's what anyone and everyone with a computer is doing, now (see this thread), putting their opinions out there. She was also correct when she equivocally said, "whether he didn't do this, this is shameful and horrible, and if he did do this, he'll have to pay a price, but that's also horrible." They talked about it because the show is about pop-culture and they have to--Nicolle said this week that she hates continuing the discussion because it's public and unfair and nobody's business--but clearly none of them wanted to.

I think Whoopi's the one who refuses to listen to other people's opinions. Rosie is giving her point of view... I think Whoopi cuts Rosie off a lot and doesn't let her get too involved in the discussion.

I think she has a real hard time understanding her thoughts are read as illogical. I cringe when I hear her veering off with statements that are usually generic or unintelligible. At least when Sherry did this, she landed in a place where dots were connected.

Rosie is the only woman on that stage that is willing to talk about this issue. As man I find it disheartening Rosie P and that blonde lady fall in line with the old boys club. There is a pattern here of women being dismissed and a well-to-do man brushing it off. I understand Whoopi wanting to support her friend, but she needs to make it make logical sense.

I wonder if they had an agreement during their pre-show meeting about what angle of the story they would cover. Rosie O alluded to it when she said something like "are we talking about it? I wasn't sure." Nicolle and Rosie P seemed pretty focused on the media/social media piece of it. Rosie O went further... Whoopi sighed and shifted in her seat. There's definitely tension between the two of them.

gcal I have a feeling Rosie is pretty absent in those preshow meetings. I just don't get how not talking about it is the "new view." They might as well be talking about Hollywood's Best Hair or the latest cringe-worthy Youtube child sensation.

Whoopi is friends with Cosby. Her mind must be in such a state of shock she's trying to play both sides and defend him without defending him. I think she feels it's true, but doesn't want to fully commit to a statement.

without Whoopi there, Rosie O'Donnell really takes over the show and you can tell she loves it. Whoopi hasn't been back due to supposedly injuring her back after Christmas. Rosie Perez has the month off to rehearse for FISH IN THE DARK. Expect lots of guest hosts this month. Couldn't watch all of today's show due to O'Donnell turning it into The Rosie O show.
