A New "View" Starts Today |
I'm not in favor of those kind of inane questions they asked Misty. It's unfortunate that the general tv watching public wants to know those answers and the producers are interested in pleasing them.
Getting rid of Nicolle Wallace would be a huge mistake on the part of the producers. I'll admit I find the show pretty intolerable and will only watch if I am home and have nothing better to do but she is definitely the breakout star of this season. I started watching occasionally when Rosie O was briefly on and for the most part gave up when she left. I will say though that the one thing that bugs me about Wallace is that when a guest is in the middle of speaking she tends to interrupt them with a question in the middle of them speaking. She did this with Misty today.
I just happened to turn the TV on today right as Whoopie was introducing her so I made sure to watch the interview. I agree, I thought it was stupid that they wanted to know about her workouts and diet when there was so much else they could have asked her with such a short interview segment. I understand why they did, but I just wish her segment could have been longer.
if they dump Wallace, they might as well cancel the show. I don't know what these producers are thinking.
A friend is saying Whoopi is less than thrilled idea of letting Wallace and Perez go is even being mulled. If Whoopi walks the show is done.

I can't believe they didn't bleep Raven saying of Kelly Osbourne's dress designs, "it's snatch-ready."
Ugh. Unbecoming of Raven, unbecoming/unflattering to say about the usually delightful and talented Osbourne, and unbecoming of "The View." I usually don't have much to complain about a daytime talk show that is...a daytime talk show, but that was inappropriate to say, and to be heard.

Thank you, I thought I heard "snatch-ready" wrong (thinking it had something to do with spanx). Bizarre; Whoopi didn't even blink.
I know "Snatch" as a term used by the LGBT community which is referred to as a good thing. "Those eyebrows were SNATCHED!"
Also, did anyone watch today? I may not always agree with her but Candace Cameron Bure held her own against Raven. If they want a more conservative voice...they might have found it in her. Not to mention I thought Michelle was on her A game. I literally laughed out loud numerous times.

To my ears, she held her own only because Raven didn't do much but turn in her seat and vogue her disgust. She could've argued with many solid facts, yet pulled out the same generic stuff. She often pulls focus, and then does the deer in the headlights, not adding much. And the Oregon wedding debate was devoid of fact-checking. Whoopi was very strong today. Still, I may be in the minority, but I find interpolating Roe v. Wade abortion rhetoric into the Equality discussion really off point.
I'm having dinner with View friends later this week, maybe they'll know more by then. I think Rosie Perez was given the Joy Behar treatment, "We want to part ways and will let you say whatever you want."

Does this mean Wallace is staying? (Not because she's remotely similar to Perez, but only because they can't replace the whole damn panel; wait, maybe they can).

What a freaking embarrassment. And if she really doesn't care, maybe she should start looking for another job!

If they get rid of Nicolle Wallace, they should cancel The View. She is without a doubt, the single smartest person on the show. As far as Rosie Perez, I feel she is not going because she wants to. I agree with one of the posters who said she is going out the Joy Behar way. Pity. These producers are killing this show and that includes the queen bee herself, Barbara Walters.
Barbra Walters hasn't been a producer in a hot minute. When she left so did her say (and rights to the show when she sold them).

The Whoopi Cosby defense is still a head scratcher. And her bizarre take -- hey, everyone dropped ludes in the 80s -- makes her sound more glib and less savvy than we know her to be. But she has a shape-shifting take on drugs anyway (admits to a recurring cocaine problem, indicts alcohol regularly, touts weed like a paid spokesperson, admittedly with glaucoma part of her endorsement MO.) Her odd view on personal responsibility seems to suggest: these women should've known better. It's a white male take on rape that people on FB are freaked out about this morning, appropriately. I don't think the case is closed, and so we might see Goldberg "evolve."
I stopped watching the show several months ago but from reading this thread all I can say is - there's only so many times you can try to revive a dead body. Give up already.
With Perez sobbing uncontrollably for for first ten minutes of the show and Whoopsie telling people to **** off about what they are saying about her Cosby take, it was just like old times.
If you didn't catch it, Perez basically confirmed Collins joining. I've heard whispers they're waiting to announce her and a 5th co-host during the hiatus.
When Whoopi throws to commercial with: "We're going to go to break and get our asses together."
It's time to let her go.
It's official, Michelle Collins joins The View.

I've warmed up to Michelle. Rosie Perez had to go, but her announcement today was sad to watch. I love Nicolle Wallace, she's the most interesting and down to earth host they've got. Really hope they don't get rid of her. I'm a Millennial raised on the Disney Channel, so even though she says some pretty inane things, I have a soft spot for Raven. Whoopi's been a bit tiresome all season, but ever since Rosie O left, they've needed someone to steer the ship.
That is excellent. When I wrote about this a few months ago some poster here when on about how she is not under consideration and this will never happen.
That poster DAME was myself. Some friends who work at the show said originally she wasn't but then like someone else observed she had the Joy Behar approach going for her. So many years ago they plucked Behar from a night club and she can became a star. They're taking that approach with Collins.
I just hope they figure out something to do with her chair.
