And Mario Cantone's phone is ringing right now...
So sad to hear this, but you have to respect her for always keeping her family first.

whoa! I'm shocked at both bits of news re Rosie. Just when I was beginning to not hate her on the show, lol. I'm good with Mario, though. I love the guy.

What a mess.
It seems a little fishy though. We aren't getting the whole story. Rosie had the blowup with Whoopi yesterday over the Brian Williams situation. Today's (Friday) show is always taped on Thurs. afternoon, meaning today's show was taped right after the blowup show. On today's show, Rosie barely talked during hot topics and then didn't appear with Whoopi for the rest of the show. Knowing her past of knee jerk reactions (like the last time she quit after the Hasselbeck fight), I wouldn't be surprised if yesterday put Rosie over the edge. I mean if she separated in November, why did she wait until February to leave for the family's sake? I expect we'll hear more in the coming days.

It just makes it harder than ever to believe there's any stability to this person. And I've only enjoyed her, both on her own show and this one. To leave a second time, before the end of the season, seems like show biz insanity. This is her profession. How she makes a living. She wrote a book trash-talking Barbara Walters. But she got another chance. All was forgiven. Hugs, kisses, ratings. She came back. And now, another abrupt exit, and even more erratic than the last. It doesn't speak well of her decision making, in or out of the entertainment industry, to put it mildly. Bottom line: It's sad. Please, don't sign a book deal. I don't want to read a rant about what a horrible person Goldberg is, or the new producer. She has money in the bank. Go to therapy, raise your children. Leave daytime TV to people who want to be there. Did I say it's sad? Waste usually is.

I totally agree. TWO abrupt exits. I am embarrassed for her. I was starting to enjoy her this time too.

I don't believe for a second this has anything to do with her marriage falling apart. This is all about her conflict with Whoopi. Rosie seemed perfectly fine and dandy, moderating the show during Whoopi's absence. Since Whoopi's return, it's been a different Rosie...and a different show. And not for the better. The tension between the two this week was palpable. But as far as I'm concerned, the wrong one is leaving.

Updated On: 2/7/15 at 12:36 AMYup, the wrong one is leaving! I think if they kept Rosie O and Nicolle and got rid of Whoopi and maybe of Rosie, the show was much more fun when they were gone. I say let's trade Whoopi for Joy Behar and the show will be great!

By the way, this may be a smart move on Rosie O's part. I feel like the show may get cancelled soon and she doesn't want to be responsible for it, and you know that the media will attack HER and none of the other co-hosts for the cancellation, if it happened. Whoopi, Rosie Perez and Nicolle are just not that entertaining.

Here's my take on the show as it is now.
Whoopi - it was great for several years, but time to hang it up.
Nicholle - smart, pleasant, but no thrills.
Rosie P. - boring
Rosie O. - finally getting to like you, and whoosh!
I wouldn't miss it if it were cancelled yesterday.

What did everyone think of Stacy London? She wouldn't bring the average age down but I thought she fit well and contributed to discussions.
I've been told the tension backstage has been palpable between Whoopi and Rosie but Ro's departure came out of nowhere.

She's a bully. Rosie has now crashed and burned 3 times in a row, twice on The View and also on her ill-advised show on OWN. Maybe it's time to stop hiring her?
If you're going to take photos at a Broadway show, turn off the flash. Your illegal, disrespectful, and useless photo will turn out better.

ucjrdude902, I was just saying when Stacy London was on was that she would be a great co-host, if they needed a permanent replacement. (Little did we know...) She was a lot of fun, bright, comfortable, and didn't feel the need to talk over some of the people that were on when Whoopi was out.(The level of crosstalk Rosie allowed was unbearable.)

I felt London didn't contribute much to non-fashion related topics. She seemed like a fish out of water regarding anything political. That being said, she is very engaging and natural.
London could be great but once again age is a problem. I love Cristela but with an LA based show and ratings continually on the rise I doubt she is a real option. I do know, age was a big factor when they were mulling at 5th.

I also thought London looked lost at the table.
Would they ever rehire Joy? I still vote for Laverne Cox.
What about Ally Wentworth? She's technically part of the abc family.

These comments on age are disturbing. Not unexpected, not "wrong," but still. Who watches this show, anyway? 28 year-olds?

hmm, well, maybe it's her health, maybe it isn't. I guess we'll see if she continues to work at all, or if she stays home and takes care of her health.

Here comes my judgmental comment, which some will trample on: But why, in her early 50s, after a life-threatening heart attack and gastro-intestinal surgery did Rosie adopt a brand new baby? I would think she's had an extraordinarily satisfying parenting experience, with three adopted kids and one quasi-biological (with Kelly). To almost die and require such dire medical treatment, and then to start over with a new family seems unfair to her own health and potentially the child. It's none of my business, but I dare say we might judge a 52 year-old man with a 2nd trophy wife who adopted an infant thus. And then, if her health is precarious, her relationship deteriorating (surely it wasn't wonderful in the summer if it fell apart in November), why take on daily TV on a show infamous for (and demanding) contention? Many interrelated questions. The answer now: to vacate the marriage and the job and focus on self-care. One would hope that she might carefully weigh all options before recommitting to more children or media work that exacerbates threats to her existing family and ultimately her own longevity.
