Big fan here. To those who saw him play this role before, what would you say his chances are at getting a Tony nomination? He's the first person that comes to mind when I think of a true triple threat working on Broadway right now.
It's September. No one knows anything. A majority of this season's musicals did not start performances yet. There's a chance he'll be up against Peter Gallagher, Michael Cerveris (assuming he stays with Fun Home), Ken Watanabe, Rob McClure, Tony Danza,..

I'm not all that familiar with On the Town. Would you say Tony's role is a Leading role or could you see them putting him in the supporting category cause all 3 sailors are pretty much equal?
I think if On the Town stays open he has a shot. Also, between Rob McClure and Tony Danza, who would they put in lead? (Assuming they separate them for strategic purposes.) There is also the possibility that Matthew Morrison replaces Jeremy Jordan (PLEASE!!!).
See, I'd say the same about Jeremy Jordan. (I don't love either one but it seems they've watered the role down to matinee idol status. Neither one of these actors has Johnny Depp's charisma-or darkness.)
"Impossible is just a big word thrown around by small men who find it easier to live in the world they've been given than to explore the power they have to change it. Impossible is not a fact. It's an opinion. Impossible is not a declaration. It's a dare. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary. Impossible is nothing.”
~ Muhammad Ali
If Jeremy Jordan stays with Neverland he has a very strong chance of being nominated. He got amazing reviews. I thought that he was absolutely phenomenal!!
Will Swenson could also be nominated if Bull Durham comes this season. Also I think there are male leads in the last ship and an American in Paris too, but I'm not to familiar with those shows
Tony Yazbek has a good as chance as being a nominee. It's possible that he could win, but way too premature at this point.
"Noel [Coward] and I were in Paris once. Adjoining rooms, of course. One night, I felt mischievous, so I knocked on Noel's door, and he asked, 'Who is it?' I lowered my voice and said 'Hotel detective. Have you got a gentleman in your room?' He answered, 'Just a minute, I'll ask him.'" (Beatrice Lillie)
I'm not sure if producers are super concerned about splitting their leading actors into different categories all the time; if the show is a hit both can land nominations in leading (See: BOOK OF MORMON, KINKY BOOTS, GENTLEMAN'S GUIDE).

I got u. It would be such a freakin awesome race if Jeremy went up against Ken and Tony. And then Jeremy and tony should do a tap dance number....shirtless...holding hands...
