In David Hare’s "Skylight"! A transfer of Stephen Daldry’s production in London and taking the Golden.

This year is really shaping up to be a great year for plays!

I don't know, I could easily see that being a race between her and Paule Constable's lighting for 'The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time'...

Though with that said, Stephen Daldry will now be directing two productions on Broadway (The Audience, Skylight) this season as well as Sam Gold (The Real Thing, Fun Home), Anna D. Shapiro (This Is Our Youth, Fish in the Dark), Scott Ellis (You Can't Take It With You, The Elephant Man, On the Twentieth Century), and Joe Mantello (The Last Ship, Airline Highway).

I wonder if at least of them will end up being nominated twice in the same directing (of a play) categories ala Matthew Warchus back in 2009...

Excited about this. It's one of my favorite David Hare pieces and I'm excited to see this version with Carey Williams.

It's panning out to be another excellent year of plays in New York.

^What does that have to do with anything? Once is still playing at the Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre, not the Golden!

>So I guess this means Once is slated to close by the start of 2015?<

It's going into the Golden, not the Jacobs.

Begin at the beginning and go on till you come to the end: then stop.

It was very warmly received--several 5 star reviews with high marks for both Nighy and Mulligan. Critics praised the chemistry between the two and seemed to enjoy that the plot was thought-provoking, but also comical.

I think it would be great if Matthew Beard transferred with the production as well, as he received high praise too.

Is it a must see? I think many shows this season have that claim, but I'm scheduling in space specifically to see this. Friends who saw it found it highly topical to things in our lives (I have many friends who teach in urban environments), but enjoyed it most for the acting. I love Mulligan personally, but I've heard Bill Nighy is particularly exceptional in this.
