Nancy Opel posted "Victoria Mallory was a role model and inspiration to me as a young singer. She will be missed." But I can't seem to find anything anywhere else about her passing. Am I missing something?

A sparse facebook page in her name appears to also refer to her as passed. Still could be a hoax, though.

I love Victoria Mallory! Her facebook page seems to refer to the fact that something awful has happened, but that's all I could find. I hope it's not true.

There are several posts from close friends of hers stating that she has passed.

Terrible news.

From what I could find it was pancreatic cancer. She was just diagnosed a few months ago. Very sad. What a beautiful voice.

Victoria must've made a really beautiful Young Heidi in FOLLIES. May she rest in peace.

My thoughts to her daughter, Ramona, who I saw in A Little Night Music. I enjoy listening to Victoria Mallory on the OBCR of Follies.

So sad.

BWW now has a headline, looks like it's official.

Rest in Peace, Angel.

She did, Musical Master. She was a lovely Maria and an adorably ditzy Anne as well. This is truly sad news.

How sad. She was very talented. I have the dvds of her work with the Prince Street Players when she was just starting out (she was probably about 18 years old). She was a true ingenue.

The first thing I ever saw her in was the revival of WEST SIDE STORY. I remember thinking that she was a glorious Maria. Very sorry to learn of this sad news. A loss to the world of theater and especially to her family. My sympathies to all who knew her.

In memory of Victoria Mallory I post several photos from the 1968 Lincoln Center revival of WEST SIDE STORY. Victoria Mallory played "Maria".

R.I.P. You were beautiful. You were talented. You will not be forgotten.

Que descanses en paz Victoria Morales.

I'm so sad to be reading this.

I have loved her vocal performance as Anne for so long on the cast album of Night Music. She was such a beautiful woman, too.

RIP Victoria

I had the great fortune to know Vicky as a teacher for the past few years. She was just beautiful inside and out. Her talent, beauty and kindness were untarnished until the end. Everyone loved her, she was a true class act without ever having to try.

She is THE Anne. All one has to do is play "Now" and listen to all of her asides. She lands every joke ("Why are virtuous people so stingy?" "Shall I learn Italian? I think it would be amusing...if the verbs aren't too irregular."), shows us her childlike innocence that draws Fredrik to her ("I know you like my hair this way, but on top my head? Like a siren!") and her seductiveness that she herself doesn't really know how to control ("French is a much chiquer language EVERYONE says so...Parlez vous francaaaiisss")

No other actress I've ever heard or seen has been able to find that. During a lesson, Vicky once told me a story of how when the Tony nominations for ALNM came out, Sondheim came to the theatre that day before the show and told her how he felt she was robbed. He said that she had the most difficult role in the show, but no one in the audience would ever know it because she played it so effortlessly. She then paused and said to me "So silly, but wasn't that nice of him?" Typical Vicky: brush off the compliment but still be gracious to the person who gave it. We'll all miss her.

OMG! This is sad news...and rather shocking. I interviewed her for BWW a few years ago and she was warm, charming and delightful to talk to. She will certainly be missed.

1977 Opening Credits from the CBS soap opera THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS. Victoria Mallory played "Leslie Brooks" from 1977-1982. She is the first one seen with co-star and leading man Tom Hallick as "Brad Elliot" as soon as the credits begin.

Even more difficult news - apparently Victoria Mallory's mother died just a few weeks ago at 86. Let's keep Ramona Mallory in our thoughts during this awful time.

I'll never forget the wonderful performance she gave as Anne in ALNM, the second Broadway show I ever saw. That clip above with Kurt Petereson is part of a magnificent hour-long show that shows the lady still had it in spades when it was recorded. A huge loss.

Good thoughts and heartfelt prayers to Ramona, The Morales family and Mr. Mark Lambert. May they both rest in peace - - - mother and daughter - - - together.
