I really need help here. I was just cast in an EPA/ECC production for 625/week. I am non union. I do not have my equity card. From everything that I have read I saw that of you aren't equity, but cast in an EPA show, you have the option to get your equity card. Can someone help please?

Why don't you ask the people who cast you?

The only question you asked was "can somebody help please?"

Help with what?

Maybe you should try the main board.

Maybe this could become a general "Dear Abby" thread, though.

I would ask the people who cast me, but I've already asked 2 questions and it doesn't start until October, so I'm trying to figure it out. And yes it is AEA.

EPA and ECC are not types of contracts, they are terms used to differentiate auditions (for principal roles or chorus roles). What type of contract is the show utilizing? Outside of Broadway and tours there are very few contracts which require absolutely everyone in the cast to be Equity, so they may indeed be hiring you as a non-Equity actor. When they made the offer for the show did they mention whether they were offering you an Equity contract?

This is an important thing to figure out. ASK the casting director/office who cast the show. There is no reason not to.

With that money it sounds like they're offering you your card. If they are I would do a lot of research on the union because it doesn't sound like you're very familiar with it or the business (and I don't mean to sound rude by saying that).

What is the contract? As AEA said, EPA and ECC aren't contracts. What did your offer say?

My stepson was stealing my panties and the folks on this board gave me lots of helpful advice. I am sure they can help you with this straight bot you have a crush on, Garvinsam. What do you do for a living?
No good can possibly come from using this vast wasteland of error and deliberate deceit. You should get off of it and warn others away. You should make sure your children and grandchildren know what a corrupt and morally bankrupt institution it truly is.
