Roma Torre is taking a leave of absence after announcing she has been diagnosed with Colon Cancer after a colonoscopy
She will undergo chemo @ Sloan Kettering . No other details were reported. I just heard this on NY 1. She admits to having waited to long thinking she was immune as she led a healthy lifestyle. I have been going regularly every 3 years after having a bowel resection years ago after polyps kept popping up in the same area. I have one coming up in October. Time to stock up on apple juice. I urge those over 50 who never had one to get one asap.
Thanks for posting this although your information is slightly incorrect.
She is not yet scheduled for chemo. She has surgery this Thursday to remove the cancerous portion. They will decide on chemo later. Her chances of beating this are said to be very good.
"She is slated to have surgery on Thursday to remove the cancer, at which time a diagnosis can be made about the stage of her disease. Torre's doctor, Martin Weiser, told NY1 health reporter Erin Billups that Torre's prognosis is good."
Colon Cancer is a hideous disease. It's very sly and quickly moves around. I wish Roma all the best with whatever treatment they think best for her. God Bless.
It is slow to develop and if you get tested it is treatable. Once it gets a start and goes untested watch out.
I always respected her as she was not flashy. Her reviews (most I agreed with) were thoughtful and incisive and made points. Lord Brantley however is like a sadist who seems to relish sticking the knife in and twisting. I would listen to her before Brantley any day of the week.
