Hey everyone! I just recently returned from a little vacation to NYC and saw two shows while I was there...I would have seen more but there wasn't enough time (I was there for a wedding...lots of visiting family, etc.). So anyways, here are my thoughts:

August 20th: A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder
I thought this show as brilliant. It was an extremely well-rounded show and so enjoyable to watch. It was silly, witty, and just so smart and fun. My seats were in the second to last row of the Mezzanine, and I still saw everything perfect. Afterwards, I went to the stage door and met the cast... They were all so friendly and took pictures and signed my playbill. And it was pretty cool that Laurent Worsham complimented my tie! (And also Bryce Pinkham is such a cutie :) )

August 21st: If/Then
I really enjoyed the show, despite some reviews and other peoples' opinions on this site. I was third row right orchestra, and I didn't really have to bend my neck too much. I am a fan of Idina and it was incredible seeing her live. Of course the show had its flaws (like every show does), but Idina is a powerhouse and the rest of the cast is also extremely talented. After the show, I darted out of the theatre and found a spot on the barricade at the stage door, and then it started raining. I stayed under someone else's umbrella. Jenn Colella and James Snyder came out first... and then to my surprise, Idina came out and did the Ice Bucket Challenge. That was really really cool to watch! She went back into the theatre and came out about 15 minutes later to sign stuff.

Both shows were really cool experiences, and I'm so glad those were the shows that I watched!

First Broadway shows are always magical. Congratulations. My first was HELLO, DOLLY! in 1968 with Pearl Bailey and Cab Calloway, and it remains one of my fondest memories.

Yes... I couldn't be more thankful for this experience! Hopefully I'll be back in December to see more; I'm still on this Broadway high

Awesome! Do you get to see tours in your hometown? That was how I originally got started with seeing musicals (starting with BEAUTY AND THE BEAST).

My first Broadway show was American Idiot. Not only was it my first Broadway production, but it was my first time ever seeing a professional production. It was also part of my first ever trip to New York back in 2010. Ah, the memories. :)

Glad you had a great time, two really good shows and nice stage door experience. My first Broadway show was "Dreamgirls" in 1982 and Jennifer Holliday was absolutely amazing !!

Mine was most of the original Broadway cast of Les Miz. (I missed a few people-but got to see Colm Wilkinson, Terrence Mann and the originals in most of the other roles.)

First "Broadway" type show= My Fair Lady at Los Angeles Civic Light Opera with Douglals Fairbanks Jr. Third row center seats. I've been hooked ever since.
First show on Broadway - I think was 42d Street in a weekend that also included Dreamgirls and Nine - around June 1983.

My first Broadway show was Grease in 2007 back when I was in middle school. My Mom and I followed the reality show that selected the leads and we booked a trip after the finale!

First Broadway show was the Damn Yankees revival with Bebe Neuwrith as Lola back in 1994. My mom was able to get $10 [yes, ten dollar] tickets from her job back then.

A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.

My parents were never into broadway, and HATE NYC so living in New Jersey, it was odd seeing all my friends go to NYC and see shows because I never had. My first show was Sister Act in 2012, I convinced my mom to see it because of Raven Symone, and when we got there she was out. At the beginning I was kind of sad, but it gave me an appreciation for understudies. Later that year in August on my Birthday, she allowed me to take the bus in with friends, and I never stopped. I've seen countless shows since then, and love Broadway so much. First Broadway Show(s)!

I made my first trip to NYC earlier this summer and GGLAM was my first show as well! I thought it was brilliant. I also managed to see Cabaret, Hedwig and the Angry Inch and The Cripple of Inishmaan on my short trip too. Simply amazing!

First show: The Lion King (Original cast, i was too young to remember anything)
First Nat'l Tour: Les Mis (Recent tour)

That was my first and only tour, I live in CT so it didn't make much sense to see National Tours since I could just go see the Broadway Cast

First show in NY - Carousel @ Lincoln Center, 1965 (Family trip to World's Fair)
First Broadway - Pippin, Original Cast, 1973 (High School trip to NY)
First Broadway as an adult - Rent, 1996

...I became addicted and now try to visit once a year. (In 2012, I saw 20 shows on 2 visits)
