On a serious note, there is no need for an all black production of anything. I don't see anything wrong with colorblind casting so long as racial issues are not a major theme in the show. An all black cast is not color blind casting. Instead it is harkening back to the "blacksploitation" of the 70's. While this period did give us an amazing Dolly Levi, it also left a bad taste in the mouths of many in the African American population. Today this period in film and the arts is generally derided by most of the population.
I've always wanted to see an all-black presentation of Jesus Christ Superstar, with fresh musical arrangements reflecting current urban styles including not just the traditional rock sound, but also gospel, R&B, hip-hop, and maybe even rap in the appropriate setting. I hear Louis St. Louis came close with Jesus Christ Superstar: Gospel in Atlanta a few years ago, but I'd like to take it just a step further...
In seriousness, though. The only shows that need to have "all-black" revivals are the shows that originally had all-black casts on Broadway by intention. Of those, I would like to see revivals of:
ONCE ON THIS ISLAND JELLY'S LAST JAM BRING IN 'DA NOISE, BRING IN 'DA FUNK and PORGY AND BESS (as long as they don't f****** eviscerate it like the most recent revival)
