The Treehouse Theater Announces the Launch of NEW THEATER CLASSES

A curriculum rooted in improvisation, branching out into all genres of performance.

The Treehouse Theater proudly announces the launch of an exciting new slate of classes designed to develop well-rounded performers able to consistently perform with skill, intensity, and joy.

The Core Curriculum is five stages of Theatrical Improvisation, and includes electives in Scene Study, Monologues, Shakespeare, Viewpoints, Theatrical Clowning, Modern Dance (Contact Improv), Songwriting, Percussion, Burlesque and more!

The Treehouse Faculty is made up of working, professional, teaching artists with solid training and experience in their fields.
Our teachers hail from The Second City and other Chicago improv theaters, Broadway, Off Broadway, “Downtown” Theater, National and International tours, and are all committed educators with legitimate experience training students of all skill levels.

The Treehouse Theater is at 154 W 29th st, 2nd floor, formerly the site of The PIT (now located at 123 W 24th St). After lying dark for four years, the venue was re-opened by PIT Caretaker Ali Farahnakian (Second City, SNL, Steppenwolf, BAM) who hired Chicago improv colleague Rob Reese (Amnesia Wars, Wooster Group, Ars Nova, HERE) to run the school and theater with a broad theatrical sensibility based in improvisation.
