With the death of Robin Williams, I heard some people discussing Good Will Hunting. There arose a discussion of whether this movie was ghostwritten with Damon and Affleck taking the credit. I never really thought about it, but those two haven't written anything to the same standard as this movie. Maybe they thought up an idea which some Hollywood ghostwriter then wrote? Was Good Will Hunting ghostwritten?
If anyone ever tells you that you put too much Parmesan cheese on your pasta, stop talking to them. You don't need that kind of negativity in your life.

If you unpack this backwards, with them being blockbuster actors, it does tend to not line up...

But when they wrote it, they were unknown actors who weren't getting work, or at least not the roles they wanted. And after it, they could get acting work, which was their real goal, so... not a huge mystery there.

As for the movie, it's set in their neighborhood, steals a bit from their friendship, with characters based on their other friends, Damon's mother was a college professor, and on and on...

Beyond that, Affleck has subsequently written two movies, both of which he also directed, and one of which he even starred in... Damon has also written two more since then. So, it's not like their desire to write has since disappeared.

But, more importantly to your query, they have written nothing together since Good Will Hunting. So, yes, they have never written as anything good since then, since they as co-writers have never written anything together since then.
