Now that Finding Neverland won't be going there, is there any word on what's headed to the Winter Garden?

Could be any number of things.... Can Can, Bull Durham, Ever After, Hunchback, Amazing Grace, all have out of town tryouts at major regional theatres or commercial venues and all with sights on Broadway.. I'm 100% sure I'm missing SEVERAL productions from this list. I'm guessing they'll have some holiday filler of some kind and then a big new open ended production for the spring.

I would hope it would be CAN-CAN, as such a beautiful theatre deserves a piece that fits it (not just a great show, but one that stylistically fits the decor of the WG).
Please note: any opinions regarding shows or otherwise that are stated by this account, no matter how they are presented represent a personal opinion and should not be taken as an attempt to convey facts and disagreement with my opinion is not only welcome but I highly encourage it to inspire lively and healthy debate.

It won't be Hunchback, as Disney has had a pretty exclusive association with the Nederlanders.

I heard a rumor that Finding Neverland was eyeing the Winter Garden, but that's purely speculation.

It's way too big for Dames, and Finding Neverland has a Nederlander house (Winter Garden isn't a Nederlander). I don't know much about Allegiance but it seems better suited for a smaller space. I could envision Hunchback in there, but Disney usually uses Nederlander so I'm not too sure about that. This is a tough theater to put shows into.

Not on topic, but yesterday I finally broke down and went to see Rocky. While there it occurred to me that I hadn't been inside that theatre since I saw MAME in 1966 --my first Broadway production. I saw Cats and Mama Mia -- but only in London, never on Broadway.

Damn that theatre is WIDE! And boy is that mezzanine far back!

If Cats ever got revived, it would be cool if it played once again in the Winter Garden.

If MISS SAIGON heads to Broadway, the Winter Garden would be a perfect fit.

Right I'd think Miss Saigon would be perfect there. But I doubt they'll leave it empty until next fall-which is when it's supposedly coming I thought.

Perhaps An American in Paris. ?
"Whenever I get gloomy with the state of the world, I think about the arrivals gate at Heathrow Airport. General opinion's starting to make out that we live in a world of hatred and greed, but I don't see that. It seems to me that love is everywhere. Often it's not particularly dignified or newsworthy, but it's always there - fathers and sons, mothers and daughters, husbands and wives, boyfriends, girlfriends, old friends. When the planes hit the Twin Towers, as far as I know none of the phone calls from the people on board were messages of hate or revenge - they were all messages of love. If you look for it, I've got a sneaky feeling you'll find that love actually is all around."
