I thought it was reported 13 injured with 3 serious - unless that's been retracted?

3 were taken to hospital, but all in stable condition. They were 'serious' to the extent that they weren't minor, but none were life-threatening at all.

Which, given the damage, is incredible. That could have been so much worse by the looks of it. Terrible, terrible, terrible. I've seen buses run that red light so many times, I can only be glad this hasn't happened more often, or worse.

Words don't deserve that kind of malarkey. They're innocent, neutral, precise, standing for this, describing that, meaning the other, so if you look after them you can build bridges across incomprehension and chaos. But when they get their corners knocked off, they're no good anymore…I don't think writers are sacred, but words are. They deserve respect. If you get the right ones in the right order, you can nudge the world a little.

According to the NYT, the bus driver has been arrested for "driving under the influence of a substance that could impair his abilities", but the substance is not identified.

Be sure to stay tuned to the very end of the article. Taking a cue from the folks at Marvel, the NYT slips in a surprise cameo at the very end of the article...
