Open to anything, would like to keep it in Manhattan, price? Nothing to expensive as I'm traveling on a budget. Ambience isn't really crucial. I'm more of a laid back fun atmosphere kind of guy.

Again, "too expensive" is very relative... Entrees under $25? Entrees under $40?

Unless there is something specific you are looking for, this is hard to answer. There are so many wonderful restaurants in the city. Walk down the block and take a look at the menu that they (nearly) all post outside. If the place s deserted during what should be "lunchtime" then don't risk it.

Also, Manhattan is pretty big -- do you want to be adventuresome and go downtown? Harlem? Or do you really want to stay in the Times Square area.

If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

Entrees between Under 40, I'll go anywhere. That's one of the benefits of going to the city is exploring it.

Their is a great pizza bar in the lobby of what used to be the Milford Plaza . I do not recall the name now but it is on 8 th ave and easy to find. It is also a great place to hang out to kill time if you need to.

Go explore the East Village. There are plenty of good and reasonably priced places down there. Little Poland and Veselka are two great places to start.

Two of my favorite places on the Upper West Side are Kefi for Greek (Columbus between 84th and 85th) and Nice Matin for French (79th and Amsterdam). We also enjoy Marseilles on 44th and 9th for French.

Medi on 9th Avenue is better than sex.
"It's now rather very common to hear people say 'I'm rather offended by that'. As if that gives them certain rights. It's actually nothing more than a whine. It has no meaning, no purpose. It has no reason to be respected as a phrase. 'I am offended by that'. Well, so f**king what?"--Stephen Fry

I always recommend Trattoria Trecolori, 254 W 47th St. Great food, very reasonable prices, in the heart of the theater district. For a little more money, you can have a feast at Churrascaria Plataforma, 316 W 49th St. It's a Brazilian steakhouse, which is a unique dining experience.
