Let's say that there was some singing, people here would bitch that it wasn't what they wanted to hear. Ugh. Why can't we just be happy that they finally made a movie?? Such negative nancies we have!
If you hate it that much, then stick with the OBC. Last I checked it was still on Netflix.

People are gonna bitch either way. And the people who wish they had heard singing are entitled to their opinions. It's only a teaser, the official trailer will be out in a few months and then people can bitch about the way they are singing. Glorious.

We're in the marketing era where they try to hold off on one bit of info ("oh, btw, there's singing") until the last possible moment. If they EVER get around to mentioning it.
Frankly I don't blame them.

From a friend's Facebook page, who may or may not be on BWW, who lives and works in NYC.
"The actual trailer is amazing, We've been working on it at work and obviously they would push Meryl Streep and Johnny Depp even in a teaser trailer. They haven't finished the effects shots yet, but so far they are 50 times better than the animation in that lackluster fake trailer."

I feel like you're generally not surprised if you see a Disney cartoon and find out that it's a musical.
When I see the phrase "the ____ estate", I imagine a vast mansion in the country full of monocled men and high-collared women receiving letters about productions across the country and doing spit-takes at whatever they contain.

Posted: 7/31/14 at 1:26pmDid anyone else think it sounded like Anna Kendrick was sporting a British accent? I really hope not. I am also worried about Emily Blunt. The Baker's wife is such a tricky role and the character has to gradually grow throughout the piece. I really hope we see that subtle, yet, important change.
