"A washed-up Hollywood star trying to make a comeback ..."

That's the Fred Astaire part, and Brian would be fantastic for that. I hope he gets to show off his dancing skills in it (as well as singing and acting).

I love that they're basing it on the movie (with a screenplay by Comden and Green). This could be really great!

It would be cool if they got a young star dancer from the ballet world for the female lead.

"Jaws is the Citizen Kane of movies."

He was Gregory Hines's replacement in Jelly's Last Jam. And though obviously he didn't have Hines's dancing chops (who does?), it was remarkable how he conveyed the illusion that he did, and at no point embarrassed himself. It was then (relatively close to the start of his Broadway career, when he was still Brian Mitchell) that I realized he was a rather special talent. And in this case of course, it won't be as rigorous for him, as the staging can be conceived with him (and the rest of the cast) in mind.

You need to be a member ($75) to get the code. I imagine you'd need to be a member to use the code. But I could be wrong.

The amount of time thinking Brian Stokes Mitchell was starring in PAINT YOUR WAGON was alarming. I need the upcoming vacation.

Me too Robbie!

But what's really distressing is I could actually see him taking on either the Eastwood or Lee Marvin roles.
....but the world goes 'round

Anyone with a hunch as to who else is being courted for the other roles? The British director, the fighting husband-and-wife writing partners?
