I dont think Side Show will go to Lincoln Center. My understanding is that Jordan Roth, who runs Jujamcyn Theatres, wants it for the St James, which is the only Jujamcyn house available, and Roth is likely very involved in putting together the producers/investors for the transfer....I doubt he would let it slip away to the Beaumont
I heard it will be soon, probably by the end of this week or early next week...there's always lots of contracts to review, sign, etc before they can announce, but it sure seems to be happening
Dames At Sea may be the spring tenant. I really don't think Hunchback will make it this season.
I'm also betting they're waiting for Motown to close so they can get the Lunt-Fontanne (which is bigger (I'd think since it's Disney the set would be really big) plus there are more seats and the location is better).

Hunchback at Papermill runs until April 5 2015, if they really wanted to they could quickly transfer, but with limited previews and rehearsing while playing Papermill.
It's still going to play Papermill. They are not rushing to make the season deadline. I don't know where that came from. It will however be at the Nederlander.
I don't doubt you have your sources, Fame, but it's quite odd that they would have a theatre picked out for something that Disney seems very lukewarm about. Last they announced, they were staging Hunchback for licencing purposes. Has that thought process changed?
To be fair, they said that about NEWSIES. I am sure Disney has a bigger plan for it if reviews are good.

"they announced, they were staging Hunchback for licencing purposes"
A show can make a lot more money with "Broadway Musical" in front of it, rather then just musical . . .
So, it's not going against the developing for licensing purposes at all . . . it's just a different track then their straight to Broadway track. (Newsies, Aladdin, Jungle Book, Hunchback . . . all seem to be developed under that banner)
First of all, thanks Yero and Nateben for replying.
I definitely understand that Disney usually goes with the "licencing" thing for most of their developing shows, but didn't they only decide to bring NEWSIES to Broadway after spectacular Paper Mill sales? And they don't seem in too much of a hurry to bring Jungle Book either.
I guess I just find it strange they would have a theatre in mind before they even know how it sells. I suppose it's always good to plan ahead in case it turns out to be a hit.
The big difference between Hunchback and Jungle Book has to do with the players behind each of the creative teams, and . . . Hunchback has a proven track record - although with a different production and book.
I am unsure if everyone involved in HND is positive it is coming in . . .
The Schwartz/Menken collaboration could be a great selling point. Schwartz hasn't been too confident in HoND going to Broadway in the past. I remember him saying that if Disney ever brought the stage adaptation to the US, it would only be regional. Keep in mind that this was a good four years ago.
I do hope it happens, though. The score is absolutely gorgeous and my favorite out of any Disney film.
why would Motown be even close to closing?? It's still averaging $1 million in grosses weekly. It's not going anywhere anytime soon.
A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.
Thanks to all for your quick responses! Through the press, we know that Love Letters is going into the Nederlander. I am so thrilled that a lot of you concur that Side Show will be at the St James. Can I predict a best musical revival Tony for Side Show already? We know the Palace has An American in Paris for spring, and also that the Beaumont has the King and I. I love the post suggesting A Christmas Story to go into the Palace or the holidays. Again, one of my favorite shows. With The Marquis holding for The Illusionists during the holidays, that means I guess nothing prior, but what about post? What a wonderful thought, that Motown will close and be ready for Hunchback in the next fall. I guess that leaves my big question mark for the Winter Garden- I admit I am a CATS fan, but really?!?!?! Looking forward to hearing more updates. Thanks you guys!
Based on things I have heard on the board Hunchback may come to Nederlander after its Papermill run next year, or Forum revival will go to the Nederlander (after Love Letters). The Winter Garden is rumored to go to Finding Neverland. A while ago, it was rumored Bodyguard would come over from the UK into the Marquis, anyone know if that is still on? Also, someone said Heathers may come to the Golden after A Delicate Balance, has anyone else heard that?
gstrus2, aside from all the joking on this board about HEATHERS, there is no way that it will transfer, as it closed off-Broadway because of poor ticket sales, so a Broadway house would not be likely. Also, THE BODYGUARD will most likely not transfer because of a disappointing run in the West End, so producers probably wouldn't want to gamble on Broadway.

mjohnson2, I have respectfully disagree with you about The Bodyguard. I believe that at some point it will transfer. It had a run of 2 1/2 years in London. Personally, I think the show would be continuing if it weren't for Made in Dagenham opening in the fall. Also, the movie so famous here in the States and Whitney Houston's music is beloved by many people here in America. I know many people that tell me The Bodyguard is their favorite movie of all time. Lastly, in the US, we have a wealth of African American women that could play Rachel Marron that are currently on Broadway and not. So, this is just my 2 cent.
RW3, I did another search and realized that THE BODYGUARD had been playing for a year longer than I initially thought, so I could see it transferring. However, I don't exactly think that it should as I find it to be an extremely bad musical based on a really bad film.

I think American producers are a little shaky about bringing in Bodyguard after the experience with Ghost . . . a show that is a hit over in London, given the differences in audiences and economics, may not be a hit here . . .
Ghost wasn't a hit as such. After the initial surge the mixed word of mouth, high ticket prices slowly killed it. It struggled after the first six months to a year
The bodyguard has struggled for much of its run too, only Beverly Knight coming in raised its audience numbers. She pretty much saved the show
Unless the producers can get someone like Jennifer Hudson to do it on Broadway I'd say The Bodyguard would be a risky move
