TRINITY YOUTH CHORUS TO HOLD AUDITIONS SEPTEMBER 2-5

New York, NY – Auditions for the Trinity Youth Chorus, the acclaimed New York City ensemble for young singers, will be open for older children ages 10-18 beginning Tuesday, September 2, through Friday, September 5, 2014.

The Trinity Youth Chorus is a culturally diverse choir that offers children and teens the opportunity to be part of a serious choral program devoted to disciplined music-making, led by experienced, dedicated professional musicians who teach vocal technique, sight singing, music theory, and history. The program emphasizes the social aspect of singing, brings together collaborative neighborhood partners, and teaches the importance of building bridges within our community.

Children meet after school for rehearsals once a week in Lower Manhattan and perform in five annual concerts, Wednesday Choral Evensong, occasional Trinity Church Sunday services, and at special events.

Youth are welcomed from any or no faith tradition. No prior musical training is required.

The Trinity Youth Chorus can be heard in the movie Doubt and has been featured on Public Radio International, the CBS Early Show, at the Tribeca Family Festival, and at the Philadelphia Italian Market Festival.
