Saw last week that they announced that How the Grinch Stole Christmas is coming back this season to the Theater @ Madison Square Garden!
Was discussing with some of my industry pals who they think could play the Grinch this year, realistically. It was Patrick Page for the first few Broadway runs and then was played by Jeff McCarthy in the 2012 MSG run, but would love to hear other people's opinions on the casting of the "mean one" himself! All opinions (Actors of Broadway, TV, film, etc.!) welcome!
Thoughts? aaand GO!
hear my song; it was made for the time when you don't know where to go, listen to the song that i sing, you'll be fine..
While its likely that it will be Page or McCarthy, Patrick R. Brown or Tom Hewitt would be good.
"Grease," the fourth revival of the season, is the worst show in the history of theater and represents an unparalleled assault on Western civilization and its values. - Michael Reidel
It will be a B or C level actor. A-listers aren't going to play Madison Square Garden.
Maybe Brian D'Arcy James
If anyone ever tells you that you put too much Parmesan cheese on your pasta, stop talking to them. You don't need that kind of negativity in your life.
Good call! I've seen him play it before and he is just wonderful in this role - I think he is part Grinch! I thought he was doing the National Tour again this year though...
