Yes! So happy! I went last month but she was out. She was the reason I went and was ridiculously disappointed. So happy I will be able to go back in October and see her!
Question... I was thinking about upgrading to HIPTIX Gold so I could get better tickets... Anyone know where those seats are located or where they are?
Also, I'm super confused by this "extension." The show was originally going to close in August, then was extended to January. At what point were we told everyone except Michelle was extending to January? I thought everyone was contracted until the current end date, and I believe Linda Emond said they were all staying until January in an interview a few months ago.
Wonderful. I think she's terrific in the part, and I'm delighted that she's extending. Seems like that must mean she's enjoying the show and wasn't too bummed out by the Tony snub (well...what I see as a snub, though I'm sure others disagree).
n2nbaby, I definitely think it's worth it, but yes, you have to renew your Gold subscription each year, AND you can only buy Hiptix one time per show. Even if you used the subscription only for Cabaret, though, I still think it's worth it. If you're buying one ticket, you're essentially paying $100 ($75 Gold subscription + $25 seat) for a seat that would otherwise cost $162 at least. If you're buying two seats it evens out to $63.50 each, which is a great deal.
And I agree it will become an open-ended run, just not sure why it was specifically announced that Michelle is extending (and I think she'll end up extending again and staying until January, but we'll see). We never got an official announcement that Alan, Linda, Danny, etc. were extending past August, but they all are...
It could have been an off night for her, but I was not impressed with her performance at all. I thought she was boring and flat (as in 2 dimensional). Very disappointed.
^ I believe Cumming is contracted to the production until it's theoretical "closing date" in January! If not he's at least in it until Williams leaves.

Oh no... I thought Michelle Williams would be leaving the show in August, so I went ahead and booked December Hiptix tickets even though I could have made early November. I hope I will at least get to see Alan Cumming in December!
*Edited to fix typo - added a "s" at the end of Alan's name there before by mistake, was typing quickly, thanks for catching that.
"At what point were we told everyone except Michelle was extending to January?"
I know the e-mails I got when the show was extended made it pretty clear that Alan was going to be in the show until then. Beyond Alan, Michelle is the only person who would typically get a limited contract like that. I imagine everyone else had a contract for a year based on the potential for extensions, etc.
I guess I just assume(d) Michelle is staying until January (based on a few cast members' interviews, Twitter responses, etc., and I think someone on here said they asked her at the stage door once and she said she was staying until January?) so I was surprised to see an announcement. Clearly there is some confusion, though, so I guess the announcement was worthwhile. :)
^^ And also from the interview with Linda Emond I posted above. And, again, I feel like other things I've seen the cast say on social media and in interviews also suggested everyone was staying until January. Anyway, clearly I'm in the minority, but I thought it was known before today that Michelle was staying past August, so I was surprised to see the announcement. That's all. :)
Aw, thanks! I think it's cute that you actually click on a thread, read said thread, and post reply only to bitch, order people do to things, and ask if someone lets a thread pass by without posting. That's all you do here.
That's great! I finally saw her on Saturday. At first (with 'Don't Tell Mama' and early lines) her performance was jarring, but then I realized all her choices made so much sense and she just was brilliant. She really deserves praise.
Also, I got regular HipTix tickets (back in February these were the first available weekend tix!) and my seats were way up in the rear mezz, row LL I think, but the view was actually perfect.
