Well, we can't say this was a surprise.

As bratty as this sounds why do we seem to know better when to close shows than producers? Most members on this forum would have probably advised to close the show after 1 performance, which would have saved them a fair amount of money.

I can't think of the last time a show recovered with grosses as terrible as those.

What upcoming show could land at the Palace Theatre?

Not surprised at all. The entire idea/concept was/is terrible; it really never should have happened in the first place. It never should have gotten past the workshop phase.

That being said, I'm sorry for the actors/crew. I know what it's like and it's a bummer.

Sad, but there was no demographic for this. I hope Saul Williams comes back to Broadway again, he is an incredible musician and poet, and I look forward to seeing what he does next.
Four Simple Rules for Attending the Theater 1. This is a nice night out. Dress accordingly. Like, no sweatpants. 2. When you enter the theater, turn off your phone. All issues with phones will be avoided this way, & you won't be verbally accosted by the cast, crew, & other patrons. 3. I did not pay dollas to hear you talk or sing. I paid dollas to see & hear gorgeous men like Norm Lewis, Ramin Karimloo & Joshua Henry. 4. Unless you have medical issues, don't eat. The wrappers are loud, & your disgusting munching is even louder. You aren't at the movies or a barn dance, baby.

You act like the producers were unable to analyze the weekly grosses and only the savants on this board were truly able to understand that 17% of potential grosses meant the show wasn't doing well financially. I'm sure they had their reasons to keep the show running until now even though it was clearly doing very poorly and I'm sure the fact that some of the folks on this board didn't understand or agree with their reasoning was pretty far down on the list of things they cared about. Well, now on to the next weekly death watch.

I just love how at the Tonys that man (can't remember his name) , said that this would take Broadway by storm. That obviously didn't happen. But wheb I first heard of this show...I knew it was not going to last.

Did Side Show already secure a theater? Weren't they looking to come to Broadway as early as this fall? Miss Saigon is still a year off, right?

And while I'm surprised it lasted this long, I'll give them credit for believing in their product, hoping word of mouth would turn things around.
If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

Jordan you can keep doing your 'jokes' about Heathers all you want but to be fair it would probably sell better than Holler did.

Reidel said this a few weeks ago, but I wouldn't be surprised if Finding Neverland takes the Palace. (That is, if Boston reviews are decent)

It is a shame when any show closes. Having said that, this came as no surprise. It is amazing it got past the opening week.

That's high praise, the ability to sell more tickets than the worst-selling show on Broadway, heh.

How long will it take to undo the stadium seating at the Palace? Would that delay a new tenant trying to rush in while tourist season is still going?

Not saying any show would try to take it that quickly, just curious.

Anyone have an idea about how long it takes to get a refund from Ticketmaster?
