Anyone a BWW Editor? I saw the job posting and am thinking about applying. Curious as to what it's like.

Basically you take information that other people post, have the moderators delete their thread, and then post a news story based on what the deleted post said. /sarc

Have they advertised a job for a Picture Editor because they sure as hell need one. That feature on the marquee of The Last Ship just ran seven photos of the same single poster. And it's just as bizarre at opening nights and awards lineups when images are repeated but zoomed in on.

^I have a similar complaint in that last week they posted a video and the title was, Band plays Hairpsray at Lincoln Center (or something along those lines). Upon watching the clip, it was obvious the band was playing outside Fox News (I think the row of Fox News posters in the background kind of gave it away)!

They seriously need to hire a proofreader.

I've been saying this for a long time. The photo features are ridiculous. Usually around a dozen photos of the same shot for each shot. They basically just post every photo they take.

^This! And the guilty party is usually the same photographer.

In addition to the photo editor, they need to have somebody look at how they hyper-link names in the articles themselves. It's not uncommon to get people linked to articles (and thus shows) they have nothing to do with because their name is contained within somebody else's full name.

Photo editor...yes!
In addition to cutting half of the pictures, they need to double check what names they post with the pictures. I've noticed so many mistakes, and when I corrected it once, I got a passive aggressive message from the photog.

Does BWW even have a style guide? (This may be one of the most ridiculous things I've ever asked, I realize.)

But it would've been nice, if one had a time machine, to implement a standard for what gets italicized, if em vs. em dashes are used, standards for periods in bullet points, ellipses, and all sorts of good stuff that makes content on a site look, I dunno, KINDA consistent and professional.

Also, please figure out how to properly use accent marks. It's a mess.
