Saw a screening of Dawn of The Planet of The Apes last night and just wanna say that is was a fantastic movie. Not just a mind numbing summer blockbuster, but also a thought driven piece. I really hope the Academy gets its head out of its ass and recognizes Andy Serkis's brilliant work as Cesar. What a performance.

That being said all of the motion capture work was scarily good and there is always that thought in your mind that they are real. The attention to detail on the close ups have never been better.

I am extremely surprised by the praise this film is getting based on my initial impressions from trailers/commercials. It looked like a cheesy summer blockbuster with CGI done on the cheap. It looked like something I would never be interested in, but I may actually go see this.

I saw this today and it was really good. It was great watching Caesar and the other apes learn how to speak more. The film is also visually stunning to look at. I was worried that I was not going to like it since Matt Reeves created that monstrosity know as 'Cloverfield', but this was an entertaining film from start to finish. The human characters were believable as well.

I saw it today and I absolutely loved it, though it felt every bit of two hours. The CGI was stunning and Serkis was brilliant. Keri Russell and Jason Clarke impressed me also. I wish Judy Greer had more to do. Also, a question for those who saw it: are there only "evolved" apes in SanFran? Or is it a worldwide thing? I know humans have died out, but I wish they went into more detail on the total ape population.

Can't wait for the sequel!

If they told you all the answers they wouldn't have anything to detail in Lunch Hour of the Planet of the Apes, Afternoon Nap of the Planet of the Apes, Coffee Break of the Planet of the Apes, etc.

I'd like to see a remake of GIRL 6, but after the apes take over the planet.

I saw this today. I really liked the first one a lot, but this one was kinda unspectacular, I thought.

This movie left me speechless in a good way, the human vs apes battle was the best battle scene in a movie this summer since the climax battle in Maleficent, in my opinion.

When is someone going to give Andy Serkis an Oscar??

So, one for the record books?

^Could be, some battle scenes in other movies (especially this year) left me either bored or wanting more out of it. Guardians of the Galaxy will be really good though.

I finally got around to seeing it this afternoon. I wasn't a fan of Rise at all, so my expectations were incredibly low for this. That being said, I thought it was mostly remarkable. The first 95 minutes is just awe inspiring. Beautiful direction, performances, CGI, incredibly thought provoking. The battle sequence I thought was a little bloated and was the only flaw I found. Other than that... Just fantastic.

I saw this a few weeks ago with my boyfriend. I only enjoyed it because San Francisco is the star of the show. While not being 100% accurate to the city, it was still fun to see small details. Mostly, we were able to point out the stuff that's wrong.

Bears and elk in Muir Woods? LOL. OOOkay.

I enjoyed it overall and I'll see the next one.

I finally saw this today. Although I liked it...it seemed ALOT longer than two hours, ten minutes. I was thinking is this ever going to end.
