Is there a cast list anywhere? Curious to know who else is in it?

I have some friends who are involved in this and I'm excited to see it! I'll be sure to report back! Sheran Goodspeed-Keyton, a local actress I know, is playing Muzzy. (She's the one in that video singing "Only in NY".

Whoa, Annaliese almost sounds like Sutton. Why isn't she still on Broadway?

^ Another former Belle, Brooke Tansley, who used to post on here said this a couple of years ago.

"Anneliese is a good friend who works all of the time, doing the work she wants to do. What she isn't doing is doing the work you want her to do, or working for fame or money. She doesn't need the money. She is an artist."

I'd love to see her as Millie. Too bad I don't live in Texas!

I always thought she would make an incredible Mary Poppins. Perhaps she'll play it regionally.

For a non-union show, that is some great tech work.

1. It IS a union show.
2. Designers are: Scenery- Paul Tate dePoo III, Costumes- Tristan Raines, Lighting- Zach Blane. All three are wonderfully talented, young, up and coming designers who are also among my favorites.

Looks stunning and wish I could see it. Thankfully, it's not in the old Casa Mañana dome. That space is hideous.

Oh okay. When they were auditioning in NYC it was a non-union contract. Obviously, she's on a union contract, but the rest of them are non.

It should also be pointed out that they're using a FULL orchestra! My friend is the music director/conductor, and he says he's having a blast. Wish I could see it!

Most regional theatres are a mix of union and non. This is no different. And the creative members are union.

Didn't say there was anything wrong with it! Just saying it looks great for a non-union production.

Is it common for regional productions to change the costumes? I feel like every time I've seen a regional production, they've worn the same (or very similar) costumes as the Broadway version but all of Millie's outfits here are different.

Edit - the linked article above also says the choreography has changed. Never seen that either. Its my favorite show and I've seen it many times - but don't I don't think I can stomach all these changes...

You're aware that all creative aspects of the original Broadway production belong to that production, yes? They're not part of the show as written. Regional productions may rent those costumes, or rip them off, or use the original choreography. But nothing has been "changed." The show is merely being designed and choreographed... by other people.

I was actually just going to say how impressed I was that they didn't make it look like a carbon copy of the Broadway show. As someone who designs for community theatre and amateur productions I don't have the budget or the desire to present a knock off production, I try to bring something new or different to it, in consultation with the rest of the production team. That being said sometimes something is iconic, so you try to be respectful of what the audience hopes to see, but always, always with a twist.

Line up, kids.

Frankly, I like what i have seen of DePoo's scenic design here far more than I ever cared for Gallo's original Broadway and tour designs... Then again, Kevin Depinet's scenery for the Drury Lane Oakbrook production was better as well...
