It's actually the Cry Baby cast recording in disguise!

Four Simple Rules for Attending the Theater 1. This is a nice night out. Dress accordingly. Like, no sweatpants. 2. When you enter the theater, turn off your phone. All issues with phones will be avoided this way, & you won't be verbally accosted by the cast, crew, & other patrons. 3. I did not pay dollas to hear you talk or sing. I paid dollas to see & hear gorgeous men like Norm Lewis, Ramin Karimloo & Joshua Henry. 4. Unless you have medical issues, don't eat. The wrappers are loud, & your disgusting munching is even louder. You aren't at the movies or a barn dance, baby.

Were they in a rush to get that thing out or what? It's inferior to both the OBC and the film's recordings.

I would have guessed that they wanted to get it out while NPH was still in the show.

I haven't heard it yet (and I will be buying the physical cd when it comes out) but several people whose opinions I trust have all agreed that it's not a very good recording.

There are things I like about his new recording, but I think Mr. Mitchell is a better singer than Mr. Harris. No disrespect intended to NPH, who more than delivered live.

He was incredible live, I like the recording ok but he sounds pretty sleepy most of the time.

It is surprising how tepid it is. It's not a bad recording, but it has none of the thrill of Harris' performance live. Maybe it's one case where a live album would have been wise.
