Only went on general sale this morning. Day seats, returns and Barclays Front Row only. Blimey. Amazing to think what a flop the original West End production was back in 1993.
That is utterly depressing, I just checked as I was in disbelieve and it is sold out.
So that means I will not get a ticket, which has never happened to me before, I even manged to get a ticket to American Psycho, which was solid sold out from the start, I will keep checking the website and hope that and that extras tickets will be released, which happens a lot esecially with the Donmar Warehouse.
Privacy according to the website was solid sold out, fo each performance, I managed to get6 a ticket eventually with ease.
The only way to guarantee you'll get a ticket for the Donmar is to become a "Donmar Friend" and get priority booking of up to 3 weeks before tickets go on general sale. There are several different levels of "friends" that give you different priorities. The highest level gives you 4 tickets for each show with 3 weeks priority booking...the lowest gives you 2 tickets for each show a week before they go on general sale. Day seats aren't "seats" unfortunately..they're standing only at the back of the circle. It's well worth the membership!
Um...I'm not quite sure what you mean sorry Phanton...can you elaborate? The Donmar aren't proactive when it comes to promoting and increasing their "friends" as they're aware that it's a small venue compared to...say The Old Vic or ATG that have thousands of "friends". Donmar Friends arent guaranteed a particular performance date as everything is subject to availability but because they keep they're friends membership numbers small they can guarantee that within the priority booking period, you will get tickets within the run of a show....so it's always good to have a first, second and third choice of performance dates when you book tickets.
Exactly what I say, how many memberships do you need?
Donmar Warehouse National Theatre Barbican Theatre RSC (if one exists) ATG A local theatre perhaps Delmont Mackintosh Open Air Theatre Old Vic Young Vic
Oh I see....well yes, there are a lot of memberships out there aren't there. All independent of each other and each wanting your bum on their seats and your patronage. Theatre IS expensive...it's expensive to produce a show and expensive to see a show. What your Friendship does...especially in the case of the "Old Vic Friends" is help secure the financial future of new productions and the actual theatre building itself. I suppose you just need to choose an organisation whose work you enjoy the most
