I sawa Dress rehearsal, They hadn't gotten through the entire tech so it was rough. The score is good.
The show definitly wanted more money which if it retooled for Broadway it will obviously get.

Yes, a real revolutionary concept they've got going here. It's a fun night at the theatre and a little bit of time and a bit more money could help even more. I just long for something original.

Posted: 6/14/14 at 4:27pmNot surprised it's transferring, especially since they played a video preview during the commercial break at the Tony Awards rehearsal. Sad to see After Midnight go especially after its great Tony performance and how it had different guest stars coming in. Oh, well... excited for JRB, though. How was the show to those of you who saw it at Papermill?

OK Mr. Roxy, we all understand you think ROCKY is the greatest show ever to grace Broadway with its existence and Brantley gave it a bad review and for that you will despise him and curse him till the end of your days. WE GET IT. Everyone on this board will keep that in mind every hour of their waking existence so there is no need to mention it over and over and over again anytime the subject of any critic reviewing any show is mentioned. Oh no!
After the wretched awards season, the failure to air the In Memoriam tribute at the Tonys, the cutting of the sound design category, the over the moon ticket prices, the "gifts" allowed Tony voters, now the news that this crass, stupid, unfunny crud of a musical with its undistinguished, washed-out music-- which I had the misfortune to endure at Papermill -- is now coming our way this fall. Now once again (it just seems like yesterday... because it was!) we'll have the JRB groupies screeching hysterically every day from now til the damn thing closes. What are they going to do though when Fun Home extends its tentacles to Broadway? Which of these two rotten apples are they going to shriek the most loudly for? Poor babies. What a conundrum!
Can't we even be given a respite of like two seconds to enjoy the summer?

^^ It's come to the point where personally I don't really care anymore about any input After Eight has. It's just the same stuff repeated over and over again just in "new" and "clever" ways when in actuality, it's all just getting old and tired now.
I am, however, very excited for this show to come to Broadway. I loved the score (with a truly fantastic orchestra), the cast and the look of it all. Perhaps with just some tweaks in the book, I think it can fit very well on Broadway and I look forward to seeing it again after Paper Mill. It was just pure fun to watch.
