I saw Beautiful for a second time last week and thought it screamed to be adapted into a film. Biopics of musicians have been successful in the past. If this ever were to happen, I would love for Jessie to reprise her role as Carole. Any thoughts?

I would so love to see that! And how about this, directed by Ron Howard?
John Sayles is supposedly still attached to writing screenplay for "Girls Like Us" another Carole King feature. I'd rather see "Beautiful" make it to the screen first.
I haven't heard much about Girls Like Us in recent years so I assumed it has fallen into development hell. I think they can fill the supporting roles with some great celebrities too.
The Jersey Boys movie is predicted to be a flop at the box office so unless it rakes in the cash with ancillary revenue streams I wouldn't hold my breath for Beautiful - the Movie.
The issue with Biopic movies in general is they often have a very niche audience. When looking at Biopics based on musicians they rarely breakout and turn a profit. They are often made at prestige movies for award season. The highest grossing music biopic is Walk the Line which make $120 million, and then their is a huge drop off with Ray making 75Million, then Coal Miner's Daughter (which is probably one of the most profitable considering it was made in 1980) made 67million, and then La Bamba with 54million and Amadeus with 51million. If anything I think the musical would be better suited as a TV movie on HBO rather than a Hollywood feature film.
I don't think it's really fair to decide whether a Beautiful film should happen or not based off the (possible) success of Jersey Boys because they're not even by the same people.
I think it should really be all up for producers Paul Blake and Mike Bosner to decide whether or not they'd have interest in making a movie, at least if someone in Hollywood is interested in this property...
It's not really up to those producers. It's up to someone who wants to buy the property and spend the cash to make it. Maybe if Taylor swift is available they could get this made.

Fair? We're talking about whether a movie gets made.
