Everyone on this blog says June/July is the best time to see New York I have a to make a decision go in winter to see Kristin Chenoweth, Hugh Jackman and other famous stars who are great on the stage or wait until summer and maybe not see the stars?

Well, are coming to see New York or specific stars performing in specific shows?

It seems like that is the real decision. New York is better without a parka, but if you are coming for specific shows, then you need to time your trip for when those shows will be running.

It's not like you can't see great shows in June/July, just not those actors and those shows.

Who says June & July are the best time to see NY? What blog? July can be downright nasty, weather wise.

And it depends on what's important to you. Thats the only right time to go -- when it makes sense to you.

I don't know who told you July was the best time to see the city but I would beg to differ. It IS tourist season which means everything is more crowded and discounts on everything including hotels and shows are harder to come by. More importantly, it's not only hot but most days very humid making New York frequently a large outdoor sauna. If I was to advise friends on the best time to visit, I would say late September, early October when the weather is cooler and a bit crisp and the city is less crowded. April and early May are similar. I have no idea if this fits with what and who you want to see on stage but food for thought.

That is just you asking the same question on this same site in March.

These aren't blogs, they are discussion boards/threads.

That particular thread certainly didn't have EVERYONE saying anything one way or another. Additionally, most of the people spoke highly of JUNE, not July -- a big difference in NYC.

But again: there is no 'better' time to everyone, what is more important to you?

You keep changing the parameters, though. In March you wanted to see a different bunch of shows, which were all new/in previews at the time. Now you dumped that list entirely and want to wait to see newly-announced shows that start in the fall based on name factor alone.

One lesson here is your last list included The Realistic Joneses because of who is performing in it, before it had started previews, and that was not a huge draw at all, despite the name factor. So, names don't always end up in something worth seeing.
