This is a delightful surprise IMO! Gorgeous Tony worthy performance.

Re Iglehart: Stop making excuses - i.e he was nervous, the stage was bigger than he was used to etc etc. He's on Broadway, we expect brilliance and perfection. And he won a Tony for a mediocre performance by the looks of things. So disappointing!

Anyone think "Glass" closing so early in the season is what her Celia?

The award is for his stage performance not his Tony performance.

How naive are some of you? He shouldn't be sweating? what are you nuts? He's a big guy, overweight, not 16, singing and dancing a very rigorous number under hot lights, in a hot costume. Get a grip! He was fabulous.

Wow, the Tony voters really loved 'Raisin' with wins for Kenny Leon and Sophie Okonedo.

Could 'Raisin' takes Best Play Revival, too?

Luscious, compared to the other performances I thought it was the most polished and overall most well put together. Was it the best, no, but it did LOOKED impressive. It definitely needed singing though.

That cabaret performance was EVERYTHING!!! Alan was simply glorious.

If "Rasin" takes revival, it would be suprising pre-ceremony but not right now.

GG looks like a great stage show for people who love theatre.
Not sure that number sells tickets.
The Mays intro with costume changes was great, though.

Ok GG was not fit for the Tony's if they don't win best musical (which I think they won't) I don't know how they will sell tickets. Even though Linda and Danny didn't win I am so so so so happy for Lena and James!

Aladdin performance certainly didn't make me want to see it. I'd say the same about Rocky, but I already saw it, and felt the same way about it I did in the theater: ho hum.

What a suprise for Leon! Congrats.
If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

Loved Gentleman's Guide. Best production number all night so far. I hope the show stays open until the end of the year so that I get a chance to see it.

Yeah, no lip syncing here.

I think Jim's TV's Sound and Video are off.

And, I cannot imagine lip syncing and then making some of the facial expressions she does.

Very excited to see Gentleman's Guide next month. A director I work with is putting a group together when one of her former students is filling in for a larger role. That performance was sensational.

Inglehart was great in Friend Like Me. Strange how no one is complaining about his costar sweating onstage nor any of the tappers who also started to sweat near the end. Nope, just the larger actor gets mocked and criticized for that.
