A normal speech from Mark Rylance. I'm kind of stunned.
I like your imperturbable perspicacity.

This is where age is helpful. : )
Hugh was recreating the opening dance scene performed by Bobby Van from Small Town Girl. They showed a little of it on one the monitors Hugh passed.

The Tigger thing was really weird, but it was mercifully short.

I loved the After Midnight number. That will sell tickets. And doing Les Miserables right after will help keep eyeballs tuned in (at least that didn't turn the show off during the jumping).

I am SO GLAD that Mark Rylance is giving an actual speech (and a wonderful one at that). I enjoyed the poems, but it would have been old to have done it again. He said a tribute to Sam Wanamaker at the final performance of Richard III as well.
"What was the name of that cheese that I like?" "you can't run away forever...but there's nothing wrong with getting a good head start" "well I hope and I pray, that maybe someday, you'll walk in the room with my heart"

Wow! That performance of "One Day More" was pretty darned impressive! I assume that Les Miz and Hedwig are the revivals to beat.
Audrey, the Phantom Phanatic, who nonetheless would rather be Jean Valjean, who knew how to make lemonade out of lemons.

I still want to see Les Mis, but I'm not 100% sure about Nikki M. James. I didn't care for her voice here.

Does Will Swenson always sing Javert like he's a member of the Lollipop Guild?

"I'm seeing the LuPone in Key West later this week. I'm hoping for great vocals and some sort of insane breakdown..." - BenjaminNicholas2

Dr. Jennifer Rinaldi will live on forever. Someone get her a Tony.

Wow, Nikki James does not sound great in this role. I was also hoping that Les Mis would be doing a more interesting number

I must be the only one in the world who thinks Les Miz is super boring.

Hugh Jackman is no NPH. That opening sucked, but not as bad as Nikki James.

I really wish they had went with Bring Him Home. Karimloo has been stopping the show nightly with that song and he is the show's lone acting nominee.

I love Nikki James, but she is not right for Eponine at all. Eponine is not a gospel singer.

What was with a snippet of a song for Jackman as they came back from commercial?

Nikki James has more of a rock voice than I expect from anyone in Les Miz. OTOH, if anyone is going to have a rock voice, I guess it can be Eponine.

Who is the young man playing Marius? He looks a lot like Ramin. I guess they finally dumped the curly wig for Marius.
