My high school is doing Cabaret next year and I'm not the thinnest of actors. Would my body shape still work as the part?

Since it's an HS, your production will probably be more along the lines of the less sexual original production concept, so yes.

I saw on MC in Sydney who was over 6 feet tall and built like a rugby player, and it worked.
